About this deal

Like every other Sivga and Sendy headphone that’s sat on my head, the SV023 are very comfortable to wear.

Sivga Welcome to Sivga

They leak extremely little, to the point where I’m blasting rap and metal, while my girlfriend works less than a meter away from me and she isn’t bothered by my music, almost not hearing it at all. Bass leaner, more sub-bass focused, isn't as thick and bloomy as the Robin, midrange is much more forward, flat, and resolving. Their appearance is great, like other Sivga headphones and their comfort/weight is excellent, good to wear for long sessions without causing much obvious discomfort. There is a little creaking when moving the headband around, nothing terrible but it is noticeable, and unfortunately there is no swivel in the cups, something that may be a deal breaker for some, but is actually fairly well counteracted by the pads. The vocal timbre is great but the female vocals don’t reach that extension in the notes that it should. The bigger the driver, the bigger the soundstage and bass, but bigger drivers don’t necessarily translate to better sound – that depends on how the driver itself has been tuned. They have several headphones and earphones, but some of them seem to be no longer available at this point. But with any wired headphones or earphones, I would (still) prefer to use a good DAC with AMP for optimal or best result.

Great review, I owned the old Denon line as well as the new Fostex headphones like X00 and TH600 and TH900. Some open backs have greater bass quantity and warmish feel than this while maintaining a wide stage and keeping the treble great. It should be noted that I have absolutely no affiliation with Sivga, I am not receiving any incentive for this review or to sweeten things out. In terms of driving factor, Sivga Robin is fairly easy to drive, and sounds sweet right out of a smartphone, but giving them some extra power, as well as a higher quality source will result in a better listening experience, as they are fairly resolute. It features a simpler packaging design, without the angled lid and the different color packaging that was featured in the Phoenix.

They are not very resolving but, you may hear some details you haven’t before and you may not hear some details you are familiar with. The ear cups are soft leatherette with a comfy amount of memory foam inside to keep your ears content no matter how long you wear them.
