About this deal

Target started selling The Pokémon Company and toymaker Jazwares’ 20-inch Pokémon Squishmallows on Jan. She recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where she wrote for her college newspaper, The Daily Texan, as well as for state and local magazines. This social media presence aims to “deliver the cuteness, coolness, and loveliness” of the beloved Pokémon. Currently, there are only two other Pokémon Squishmallows — Pikachu and Gengar — so the sleepy Gen 1 powerhouse and the adorable Gen 2 egg will be joining the gang at some point in the future.

As a lover of gaming and the written word, Jaxson currently fills his time not only with playing games, but also writing about them. Collectors own dozens to hundreds of Squishmallows, and the obsession has been compared to the Beanie Baby boom. Yesterday, the official Pokémon Twitter account teased an upcoming collaboration with the plush toy makers behind Squishmallows. Squishmallows are a popular plush toy series that first debuted in 2017, but took off in popularity during the height of the pandemic. Mattock1987 thanks for asking 😁 I haven't played Pokémon in a while, but I always liked Psyduck, Charmander and Squirtle.Given the success of these cute and cuddly stuffed Pokemon, we’ll likely hear about a third wave of Squishmallows in due time. These are Jazwares and The Pokémon Company’s first two Pokémon Squishmallows, as the company’s confirmed it’s going to make more. Update (2/20/23): It looks like the release of Snorlax and Togepi is inching closer, Squishmallows fans!

After releasing Deltarune chapters 1 and 2 for free in 2018 and 2021, savant and annoying dog Toby Fox proclaimed that the next three chapters — 3, 4, and 5 — would all release at once, and this would be the moment you paid for the whole package. The Pokemon Squishmallows for Togepi and Snorlax will be available at the Pokemon Center as well as various retailers including Target and Walmart. What do you think about this first wave of Pokémon Squishmallows, or at least the two we’ve seen so far: Pikachu and Gengar? Preliminary information suggests that Pikachu, Gengar, Togepi and Snorlax will all be available as 14″ plushies, but Togepi and Snorlax will also be getting bigger 20″ versions as well! Like the Pikachu and Gengar Squishmallows before them, the Pokémon Center release doesn’t mean that other retailers won’t be carrying Snorlax and Togepi down the line; we just don’t have any concrete info on when there will be a wider release (yet). Kotaku reached out to both Squish Alerts and Target, but did not get a response at the time of publication.
