About this deal

Of course, you always have the option of using a stand-mixer if you have one at your disposal. This can be used for the mixing and kneading process. Other than that, you are good to go! Then using a flour dusted rolling pin, work from the center to the outsides until pizza dough is larger, occasionally flipping the dough and adding more flour if needed. Lay the dough over your fists and gently move your hands from the center out, allowing the weight of the dough to stretch it a bit further. You could even try your hand at tossing and turn the pizza dough — then you have hand tossed pizza dough! This is the RecipeTin Eats’ family pizza dough recipe. It’s a rare thing when the entire RTE family agrees on something to do with food. So when I tell you that we all agree this is the best pizza crust recipe, that means something! Freezing yeast risen bread dough is a fantastic way to have fresh bread anytime you’d like, without all the mixing and proofing the dough when you are in a hurry later on. You can also take a small piece of dough and stretch it between your fingers to make a "window". If you can make the dough very thin, almost to the point you can see through it (like a window) then you know enough gluten has been developed and you can now place your dough into the bowl to rise.

Whatever dough you used to use to make garlic bread, honeycomb bread, fatayer (or any type of pie- open or closed), pizza dough, buns, manakeesh, baguettes, or pita bread, can be replaced with this recipe! Roll the dough balls into 10″ to 12″ circles and place them on a sheet of parchment paper or press them into a greased sheet pan.

Activate Yeast: Combine the water, sugar, and yeast, give it a little stir then let it sit for 5 minutes. Add in the flour, mix using a wooden spoon. Once combined, begin to knead or use a stand mixer to knead the dough. I’ve no idea what changed her mind (although it could have been the fact that every time we’re choosing what to play, I sigh dramatically and say that I wish we had Rapidough ;-)) but we bought the play dough and came home to see what we could do.

Fast forward to now and we’ve started having a bit of a family games night on a Saturday night instead of a movie night (we can never agree on what to watch) so we’ve been on the lookout for new board games to add to our collection. Last week, we were in Tesco and they had some Play dough reduced which Miss Frugal suggested we buy to see if we could make our own version of Rapidough. After the balls have risen, you can leave them sitting around like that for up to 5 hours in a cooler room (so they don’t continue rising – if they rise way too much eg 3x or more, it won’t rise in the oven). Just make sure to keep covered with a damp tea towel so they don’t dry out. Put your flour in the mixing bowl with the milk/yeast mixture and stir until combined with the dough hookIf these rules are not allowed then the Modeller must model without animation or the use of the body. Yes, you can definitely over-knead the sweet dough using a mixer. If your dough becomes so tight that it starts tearing and feels very stiff and hard, it's probably over-mixed. There isn't much you can do to fix this. The bread will probably taste fine. Just not rise quite as much. Can you make sweet dough by hand? Plus, you get the added bonus of knowing what went into your kids’ stomachs because you handmade it, FROM SCRATCH!! The stolen dough is put into its plastic container. Do not mix up the dough colours. WINNING THE GAME Also, the dough pulls away from the edges and blade so the food processor is easy to clean, which makes this method even more appealing!

There can be as many people in a team as you like and it is not necessary to have exactly the same number in each team, so everyone can play! CONTENTS One of the games we played was Rapidough and I loved it – as I was playing it, I was thinking how I absolutely HAD to go out and buy this for us to play as a family. Mix the flour, yeast, salt and sugar together in a mixing bowl. Make a well in the centre and add the oil, then add about 225ml water to bring together as a dough. Tip out onto a floured surface and knead for 1 minute, just until smooth. Leave to rest under the upturned bowl while you prepare your pizza toppings. Traditional sourdough bread uses a sourdough starter as a leaven – a fermented mixture of flour, water and microscopic yeasts present in the air. This starter acts as a natural raising agent – it helps sourdough bread to rise in the oven. Each team chooses a colour: Yellow, Red or Blue. They then take the corresponding Dough, Dough Mat, Modelling Tool and Dough Plugger and each selects a Modeller for the first round. MODELLERS AND GUESSERSKnead for 5 minutes using your hand or 3 minutes in a stand mixer (see next section for food processor). To defrost a baked, yeast risen bread, take it out of the freezer and unwrap it completely. Place it on a sheet tray and loosely rewrap with plastic. Place the loaf in the fridge to thaw slowly overnight. Whole Wheat Flour: This flour can be made by blending whole kernels of red wheat. It’s higher in nutrients and fiber than regular white or all-purpose fiber that’s why it tends to be known has a “healthier” flour.
