About this deal

For any drone, the flight time is going to be shorter than you want it to be. But with this drone, you can at least get in a few good flights before having to recharge. Range The Propel Star Wars drone collection includes a variety of impressive models that let users take control of famous ships from the saga, such as X-Wings, TIE Fighters, Imperial Speeder Bikes, and even Darth Vader’s own personal TIE Advanced x1! The Star Destroyer Drone from Air Hogs gives you the chance to pilot a miniature version of one of the most iconic ships in the Star Wars universe. This quadcopter drone is capable of reaching speeds up to 30 mph and features an impressive flight time. This drone has a flight time of 8 minutes, which is pretty good for its size and price. A lot of people complain about the short flight times of drones, but 8 minutes is actually pretty good. Some robotics engineers and researchers are working on exactly this and have started to develop the algorithms that will enable autonomous military robots to be ethical. They propose that robots may be able to be protect civilians better than human soldiers.

There’s a T-Mode option, which limits the speed and improves the maneuverability, as well as introducing invisible barriers so you can’t fly too low to the ground or too high up. These are useful for when you’re first starting out and getting accustomed to your new gadget. Uniquely, the drones' rotors are located on the underside of each, rather than on top, as with most other drones. This reverse propulsion system has the effect of hiding the rotors to some degree, though they're most obvious on the X-Wing and Speeder bike, both of which have extra protrusions that make them look less like the real thing. The TIE fighter's rotors blend in more naturally. The one downside to this is that you’ll need to launch the drones from a hard surface and not, say, from a patch of grass. Don't try catching it midair, either. You'll definitely want to read the instruction manual before flying off to blast some womp rats; although the controls are intuitive enough, you'll want to learn which button starts and stops the drone, and which one(s) make it flip in the air.Additionally, Propel will release an iPhone app, which will allow you to connect with other pilots, fight virtual battles against them and show your ranking versus others. This is a pretty cool offering from the multitude of what’s available out there from the new Star Wars product line. These Micro Machines brand drones are specifically designed for kids aged 4 and up – perfect for little girls or boys who are just getting into the world of Star Wars for the first time. Nothing too shabby, but there are definitely longer flight time drones; however, this is to be expected considering the size of this drone. Range The propellers are see through so you don’t really notice they are there mid flight, which adds to the illusion but if you crash, finding them on the ground is a nightmare. We lost a couple within our first hour of flying the drone so do beware. Propel is going to offer some sort of part replacement plan, though, so keep an eye out for that. Plus, they come complete with authentic lightsabers that light up during flight (yes, really!) so you can show off your skills in style!

The range of this drone is 150 ft. This is good enough for a toy drone. If you want to fly it indoors, then you will have no problem with the range. Also, the drone is very stable and easy to fly. Size and weight The hand-painted design has clearly had care put into it and the paint job is an improvement from the original batch of drones released - at least for our untrained eye.Once the lid is off, the drone is presented in a see-through perspex display case that’s lit from the bottom. It’s an ideal shelf warmer as it is but, if you are anything like us, you’ll want to get the drone out and actually play with it. As this equipment does not require a person on-board, it means that human defectors or spies are no longer required to deliver this robotic hardware to the opposition.

The one thing I wish these drones had was a small camera; it would be great to see a first-person view of a TIE fighter/X-Wing dogfight. Using the controller’s shoulder buttons you can do barrel rolls, which are great fun, and the user manual includes some more advanced maneuvers you can use during a dogfight. It’s like Nintendo’s Star Fox video game brought to life. We got a glimpse of it at the event in Brussels and it’s stunning to watch these drones fly and shoot at each other. The battles we saw used an additional add-on - a safe laser beam which will be available at a later date. Flight time is one of the most important aspects you need to look at when choosing a drone. If you want to use it to have a fun time, then you'll need a drone that can stay in the air for at least 8-10 minutes. However, a shorter flight time would suffice if you just want to fly it around your house. Flight rangeEven without it, these drones are meant for battle.Propel has big things planned for its Star Wars drones. There’s an IR sensor on the drones that will be used for 'battles', where there will be games that can be played against multiple drone - 12 in all. Propel is calling this 'drone gaming'. Although it must be said that Poe's Boosted X-Wing Fighter is designed for indoor use, so 4 minutes of flight time is probably not sufficient. Range The Air Hogs Star Wars Millennium Falcon Quad Mini is an imitation of the Star Wars Millennium Falcon Quad Mini, the Star Destroyer. It is 9.5 inches long, 1.85 inches high, 7 inches wide, and weighs 1.55 pounds. This is one of the most scarce Star Wars drones in the market because of its looks.
