His dream was to recover the Matrix of Leadership and become the Prime that would return the Transformers to the Golden Age, and he saw opportunity with the rebel upstart Megatron. A patient and polite schemer, Starscream used to wish Megatron would drop the heroic anti- caste charade and be more honest about his lust for power. Soundwave and the other Decepticons attempted to prevent the Autobots from constructing a Pulsar Dish, which would destroy the Energon Drain that the Decepticons had built in an asteroid field. Partners During the War, Starscream was present at Tyger Pax when Megatron interrogated the Autobot Bumblebee. Operation Bumblebee, Part 1 The Megatron toy converts to his tank mode in 17 steps and includes 2 series-inspired accessories. The Autobots and Maximals emerge from the ship and plan to return the Allspark to its rightful place within Cybertron before the planet is lost for good. As Bumblebee and Optimus set out together, they encounter Optimus's deranged future self Nemesis Prime, who lashes out at his past self for the Allspark. While Megatron and Galvatron join forces with Nemesis Prime, Bumblebee finds the Temple of the Allspark hidden within a canyon, and manages to enter the temple. As the four factions arrive under Optimus Primal, Megatron turns on Galvatron at Optimus's and Starscream's encouragement. As Bumblebee replaces the Allspark in its altar, the golden spirits of many deceased Cybertronians appear, and magically transport Galvatron and Nemesis Prime away. As the spirits reunite with the Allspark, Cybertron is saved, and the Decepticons and Predacons reconcile their conflict with the Autobots and Maximals on the condition the two sides stay apart, leading to an uncertain age of peace. Meanwhile, Unicron punishes Galvatron and Nemesis Prime for their failure, and reformats them...

Brawl joined the Combaticons in the closing battles of the Great War. He and Onslaught helped Starscream ambush Optimus under one of the Warp Cannons, and dragged him before Megatron. After Megatron was mashed into the ground by Metroplex, he along with the rest of the Combaticons fell under Starscream's command. They began a mission to assault an Autobot tanker, loaded with Energon the Autobots had managed to steal from the Decepticons. Onslaught's plan called for the team to split up, as Swindle eliminated enemy scouts, Blast Off and Vortex would clear a path for Brawl to arrive on a transport and destroy the supports to the bridge the tanker was headed for, diverting it into an ambush led by Starscream. Once the path was clear, Brawl headed in, but his artillery was unable to penetrate the shields around the bridge's supports. Vortex brought down the shields on the two side supports for him though the bridge remained standing, and Brawl had to blast a hole in the central support so Vortex could head in and take it out with a detpak.

Although battle-damaged paint is one of the distinguishing features of the Siege imprint, it seems that Hasbro's dedication to it is pretty tenuous. The Voyager Class toys are the only ones that seem to receive any significant amount, while Leaders hardly get any and Deluxes range from little to none. Despite its one large flaw (the head panel that does not rest on anything) I absolutely love this figure. It looks more like G1 Megatron than any recent "Generations" figures and there is plenty of play value. Highly recommended! So Soundwave, you ever going to use that giant missile pod on your shoulder? "Well there was that one time." War for Cybertron: Siege is a subline imprint of the Generations toyline, and the first portion of the War for Cybertron Trilogy. Soundwave was one of the many Decepticons who pursued the AllSpark to Earth. He participated in an enormous battle against the Autobots in a human settlement. During the early war on Cybertron, Megatron found reference to an energy source called Dark Energon, which had impressive potential as a weapon, and became determined to claim it for himself. One of the few places it was made was in a station in orbit around Cybertron, guarded by a politically neutral force led by Starscream. With this knowledge, he took a ship and launched an assault on the station. Soundwave, however, had come up with a suggestion—there were weapons emplacements higher up that had the ability to damage Omega Supreme. Taking them from the Autobots was a battle in and of itself, but nothing compared to the fight against Omega Supreme, who could unload entire squadrons of Aerialbots. Nonetheless, Megatron's boldness and tactical acumen finally shot Omega Supreme out of the sky. Have no fear, Lord Megatron. Under my leadership, Decepticon victory is assured! Starscream being all modest, Transformers: War for Cybertron Yeah, this look is cool now, but I don't think I'll have it forever: I mean, who'd like to see things looking the same for over twenty five years, right guys? ...guys?"

Starscream and the other Decepticons attempted to prevent the Autobots from constructing a Pulsar Dish, which would destroy the Energon Drain that the Decepticons had built in an asteroid field. Transformers Prime: Pulsar Defense D-16 was born during the Age of Wrath. The Quintesson occupation of Cybertron had neutered the ritual of ascending from the Well of All Sparks, to the point where newly born Cybertronians would emerge without names or developed personalities. After a brief but tantalizing glimpse at Cybertron's sun, D-16 was sent to work in the mines underneath Kaon. He took his name from the sector in which he worked, and eventually befriended some of the other nameless workers who had been dealt similar hands by the Quintessons. One Cybertronian in particular served as a sounding board for D-16's earliest sociological musings. From this nameless bot D-16 realized the importance of a proper name. By the time that the Quintessons had been routed from Cybertron, D-16 was already craving more out of life. Unleash the primal power of the beasts with this Megatron (Beast) collectible figure, featuring a detailed beast mode with intricate dinosaur-inspired molded scales and articulated jaw with molded teethIncludes Transformers Generations War for Cybertron: Siege Voyager Class WFC-S12 Megatron figure, 2 weapon accessories, and instructions. Starting with this toyline, many of the Deluxe and upwards figures are downsized, the Leaders (plus additions) either being just a head short of a Voyager class figure from previous lines, or simply being Voyager core figures sold with extra parts to make up the price point. Siege also features a heavy focus on articulation, with common standards found on Deluxe, Voyager, and Leader Class figures being waist joints and ankle pivots, something which the following lines continue to feature. According to Shogo Hasui, this is to ensure that the feet of each toy can stand whilst holding gear from the C.O.M.B.A.T system.
