In 2013, the name was reused for a BBC television series entitled Peaky Blinders. The series, which stars Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson, and Joe Cole, is a crime story about a fictional crime family operating in Birmingham just after World WarI.

A few of the people described have interesting lives but most were just petty thugs, who engaged in extortion and beatings and a few vendettas against each other. It is easy to see why the TV show had to invent more overarching stories, a more glamourised depiction of its characters, a more mafioso style criminal organisation.
