About this deal

As to the 'steamy' scenes - I do not have anything against them, they are part of life and, if done properly, they can add value BUT the ones in the ACOTAR series are so crude, so repetitive, so badly done, as if they were written by a 17 years old guy, hooked on porn. I ended this series with tears in my eyes. Happy ones, for a change. There’s never been a fantasy series where I could think of a more perfect ending than this one. There were plenty of loose ends but they were stories waiting to be finished rather than sloppy writing. I know that the last of my favorite characters will find happiness (though I would LOVE to read another novella(s) on it). After I read the first book, I got really excited. It was easy to read, really well-written, had adorable characters, and even a good plot. I think it is good choice if you want to read romantic fantasies. (It’s still my favorite series today.) Since then, I have read a lot more regularly and faster. This series was one of the main reasons I started to love reading so much.

The way the sisters got together again how Nesta became nicer and how Feyre let the past go was cute. All that warmed my heart. I cried when they slept together. I could rant for hours about ACOTAR, which means that there are things I liked otherwise I would not waste my breath. Her trauma is heavily exaggerated and overexploited. I felt like watching videos of 'selfless acts of kindness' of people who shove their phones in the face of a homeless person while giving them food or money, so that everyone can see how magnanimous they are... why was it considered heroic when rhys defended his home yet he had been vicious and slaughtered anyone as long as they weren't part of his court, but it was considered evil when tamlin did it?The author's idea of empowering women is by making them into bullies, and men into doormats. The aim seems to be getting to the top and then forgetting who helped you get there. The characters the author created were so complex and human-like (well, fae-like, I don’t know), you can’t help but fall in love with them. There were no controlling male main characters you so often see in books dominating over the female main character and passed off as romantic. The males characters, while dominant, never ever tried to control the female characters or make decisions for them. It was one of the biggest selling points of this series for me. Also, the female characters were just as powerful, if not more, than the male characters. The author repeats the same ideas so many times that instead of emphasizing the message she wants to deliver, she diminishes it and, as a reader, annoys the h… out of you. We are constantly reminded how much Feyre suffered, how she overcome her fears, how amazing she is. I am the author of three fantasy series: Throne of Glass, A Court of Thorns and Roses, and Crescent City, as well as a stand-alone book called Catwoman: Soulstealer.

I don’t feel like Nesta communicates enough with Cassian, they mostly connect through their bodies. And Rhys and Feyre is kind of bland here. Mostly used this book to see how Maas is setting up Elain and Azriel. How azriel’s attention is shifting away from Mor. Book 1: half is setting up love story between tamlin and feyre, half is the trials at under the mountain. The entire book is a prologue for the series essentially. The love between tamlin and feyre is weak and shallow, but is important as a contrast to the romance between feyre and rhys. I would say this is a definite 5 star read. Maybe not one I would re-read but it took me on an amazing journey nonetheless. I will definitely be trying out other series by the author! We get a glimpse of her true self after the Suriel spills the tea, when she (with Helion's power and the Suriel's knowledge) helps Rhys start healing but treats him like he was nothing, leaving him literally in the mud, although he had just been tortured, almost died, and was far from healing, because he kept 'things' from her. Elain is…she just is, there. She is supposed to be really sweet and caring, but I could not buy into that, nor do I care finding out more about her.I am disappointed because it could have been an amazing series (high number of copies sold does not translate into high quality literature) but there are parts so, so badly written it made me cringe. Anyways I love Sarah J Maas's writing. Her writing is extra ordinary,It's so full of witty humour and I'm all for it. A Court of Thorns and Roses follows huntress Feyre and her friends and family and includes the following books: A Court of Thorns and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruin, A Court of Frost and Starlight, and A Court of Silver Flames. There are also box sets and a coloring book, as well as a collector’s edition of A Court of Thorns and Roses. This is an ongoing series.

It was very hard for me to rate this series – it's worth mentioning this review is only for the first 4 books in the series; I did not and I will not read ACOSF Although I rate it as a series (excluding ACOSF) 3/5, I can say that it is the first series I consider reading again even if I did not rate it 5/5. Probably because of its potential, because despite it all I have become so attached to its universe and to so many of the characters, because I can see how good it could have been... this opinion of those characters didn't change. but in addition i found rhys was cool and promising. I'd known he would be someone vital to this story. i (HAD) loved his character, i had known he hid his things himself for whatever purpose that he might seen as his priority (read: his family, his court). i had known he was the "anti hero" or that grey character everyone would fall in love with his complexities. I loved how Feyre started to “accept” (and adore) fairies and how she became one of them. She left her old thoughts and life behind. I loved her. I loved all of them. Throne of Glass follows assassin Celaena Sardothien and includes the following books: The Assassin’s Blade, Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, and Kingdom of Ash. There are also box sets, a game (Embers of Memory), and a coloring book, as well as a collector’s edition of Throne of Glass. This series is now complete, but will be re-released with new covers in 2023.The characters were SO AMAZING! They all have different personalities and good and bad qualities. They did bad and good things and we got to know the main reason why they had done things in the past and their story. Be swept away to the City of Starlight with this exclusive, Special Edition, Officially Licensed box set of the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. How is it not only OK but empowering to be the toxic one in a relationship if you are a woman?! I thought the idea behind feminism is equal rights, mutual respect. Matriarchy is equally as bad as patriarchy - just as women want and deserve respect, so do men. I think Az goes for people who have a dark past and need fixing and I think when he goes for Elain that changes because even though she has a bad past like Nesta and what they went through. She fixed herself, she didn’t need help and I think that’s why Az liked her because he didn’t feel like needing to be her saviour. ACOMAF - This is probably my second favorite book of the entire series. Obviously moved away from the Beauty and the Beast similarities. I appreciate everything Rhys did for Feyre, and let her take her own time and let her make her own choices. I think he fits her personality much better than Tamlin ever would have. I just thought it was weird that Tamlin felt so strongly about her to sell out her family.
