About this deal

The fact that it's teaching you the game as you're playing makes it great for a wide age range too, especially if you're playing it though with a family or other group of the same people. Disney Colourbrain has a way to stop you having that one in eleven chance of guessing correctly every time. Colourbrain Junior (120 questions) and Disney Colourbrain (250 questions) are primarily pitched at kids, with Colourbrain mini (120 questions) a self-contained travel edition or question expansion to the original. These cards are double sided with one side being a question and the other a picture which will give the answer. Each player starts with 11 colour cards and uses one of the cards to answer a question related to a Disney film.

Although you can play with younger players, the cards won’t stand up to picking or grabbing hence the age suggestions for players. Whether it is rhyming your way through puzzles in Obama Llama, wearing the tin foil hat of physic blocking in Head Hackers, or following the cow crowd in Herd Mentality, they always have a trick up their sleeves. While it doesn’t replace either of its predecessors in my mind it does supply an excellent variation in theme. There is also a Junior edition available if you have little ones who want to show off their knowledge. Although each card has the colour written in words, that's not helpful if you don't see the image in the same way as everyone else.

The second reason I would steer away from the original box is that of the 300 questions, I would expect only 60-70 that a 10 year might possibly know (literally just went through them all).Popular culture for young ones expands so far outside the Disney universe and this junior version does a great job of covering that wide range. Inspired by the iconic 90s movie, there is also a Jumanji board game and honestly it sounds amazing. Moving around your own personal board, each player can take certain actions on certain spaces including gaining power tokens or spending them to play cards. For all of the above reasons, unless you’re playing with adults or teaming younger players with adults my recommendation would be to go for the Junior or Disney versions – it’ll be more of a level playing field (or possibly weighted in their favour! Enjoyed by both the adults in our house and loved by the kids, ColourBrain Disney Edition is the type of game that brings families together around the table, it’s fast enough to set up that kids don’t get bored waiting and it’s interesting enough to hold the attention of the smallest players for a good while.
