About this deal

I had to get really used to the center staged cloves in the beginning, but they slowly tone down and leave room for an extremely well balanced perfume which is present yet subtle on me. Batch 1JO1 (2021): This batch starts out more amber, perhaps a tad more balsamic and aromatic than batch 3XO1. I read this is great for hot climates, I will try it next Summer although this smells so Autumn-y to me!

The spices overwhelm instead of envelop, the cloves are too sharp, reminding me of a visit to the endodontist. About 20 years ago, TBS took a foray into Ayurvedic dosha balancing and Vata was one of the results. I only find one flaw to this otherwise masterpiece, and it is that I have found that from far away it can turn cold and “metallic”. Have you ever stood on the bus with your nose inches away from a sweaty blokes armpit on a summer day?In the heart the ylang and heliotrope come forward along with the licorice and the scent becomes softer. After sitting for a while, the scent got softer, warmer, rounder and it just sits beautifully on my skin and around me all day (2-3 sprays). I don't know if I was sold a duff sample on 2 occasions or if this perfume just really really doesn't suit me. The musks don't read at all animalic to me, but I don't have a vintage formulation, only the current one from a Fragrance Net decant, so I can't say. I also still feel like the scent is more exotic rather than Christmassy, but the gingerbread is there.

But when my mom, who was with me that day, told me she found it interesting too, I decided to pick up a small bottle and give it a shot. I want to give an objective analysis of this gorgeous bottle by a brilliant designer, but all I can get is Big Red Cinammon flavoured gum! I was looking for an Indian dry-spice scent, resplendent with chewy dried fruits and honey, a dose of chai spice, the ultimate cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, amber scent, essentially an autumn scent doing it LARGE. and that hit of spicy cardamom in hot milk, and if someone told me that this is a nutmeg-heavy scent, I’d believe them, even if it’s not an included accord. One spray gives me an experience similar to the time I accidentally added too much cardamom essential oil to a candle I was making. It does not blend well with strong food scents, be warned, and too much can knock birds from the trees. There is also, as someone else mentioned, this very slight medicinal quality in it that could have been disastrous had it been overdone. I have no recollection of what I was expecting when I blind bought this, but it was definitely a shock when I sprayed it for the first time and ended up smelling like a chai cookie.

On me it smells like someone spilled vinegar over me and then dropped the contents of their spice cabinet on top.A little goes along way, and personally the right amount for me is one spray to the back of the hand, and once dry followed by washing with soap and water and then swamping with olive oil.

I layered it with Bvlgari Omnia: Green Jade, which does have pistachios, and now I am bathing in it 😁. Wearing this, I feel like I should be sitting in the middle of a forest grove, communing with nature. It is for a self-assured woman like a literary punk rocker, if that makes sense, though it's not particularly feminine to my nose.Jungle opens with a warm, spicy-orange accord that deftly avoids pot pourri or Christmas associations.
