In terms of skin feel, it is similar to Dicaprylyl Carbonate, another commonly used light emollient. It can be used in many types of formulations as it has great thermal stability (can be heated up to 85°C) and works on a wide range of pH levels (ph 3-10).
As for hair care, it is a non-volatile silicone meaning that it stays on the hair rather than evaporates from it and smoothes the hair like no other thing. It may be good to know for those people sensitive to fragrance that this has quite a strong ‘babypowder’ scent, which I find is the same for all Vitamin E products I have tried. It is a polymer (created from repeating subunits) molecule and has different molecular weight and thus different viscosity versions from water-light to thick liquid.It's a little thick to apply but unlike the one I was using previously, doesn't pill over the top of a serum. Fatty alcohols have a long oil-soluble (and thus emollient) tail part that makes them absolutely non-drying and non-irritating and are totally ok for the skin. There are plenty of better options for sun protection today, but it is considered "safe as used" (and sunscreens are pretty well regulated) and it is available worldwide (can be used up to 10% in the EU and up to 7.

If you are someone who likes to know what you put on your face then fragrance is not your best friend - there's no way to know what’s really in it.As for skincare, it makes the skin silky smooth, creates a subtle gloss and forms a protective barrier (aka occlusive). In addition, it is better for creating DIY tinted moisturizers, as the product comes out it a specific place so the whole back of your hand isn’t covered with cream.
