So my kid is obviously a minecraft fan, and asked for a minecraft cake. Mojang won't just make a deal with the cake industry (they're missing out on some serious royalty money here), so I decided to improvise.
These characters are solid metal, and heavier than I expected. At first I was concerned about them being too heavy for the cake, but they were great. Being weighted the way they were, I pushed them a little farther into the icing than I usually would, but they stayed perfectly even when we had to move the cake around.
