About this deal

If you have a slightly bigger laptop, the Trio Max sliding laptop monitor might prove to be the best option out there. This one is 14-inch and, like its counterpart above, mounts on the laptop lid. The primary advantage that it brings to the table is that you can attach an additional monitor, thereby upping the display count to 3. Cool, right? switching regulator, for generating a 12V supply for fans, LEDs etc. when the VIN power is higher than 12V (see Power jumpers notes below). When you need the screen to be extended, all you need to do is connect the monitor to your laptop, pull it towards yourself, and get going. Moreover, the display quality is quite decent, and the lightweight form factor means that it doesn’t add much heft to your laptop bag. Sounds exciting, no?

The DueX2 and DueX5 are supported in firmware 1.16 and later. You must upgrade the firmware on your Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet if you are using an earlier version. ¶ Compatibility The duex.estop pins are routed through the I2C expander on the DueX. The exp.e[x]stop pins on the Duet expansion header become the CS pins on the DueX temp daughterboard connector. Lightweight and durable, the DUEX is created with ABS and aluminium so it can withstand the wear and tear of transporting a laptop around. It’s also energy efficient and specially designed to reduce battery drain from a laptop. Optimal colour temperature and brightness minimises the emission of blue light from the display so users can work and play comfortably with less eye fatigue. The average Delta E of 5.04 is poor and means colors aren’t accurate, and the color temperature of 7310K is on the cool side, so those colors look pallid. This display only renders 55.6% of the sRGB color gamut, which means that it only produces just over half of the shades that will potentially be required by mainstream content.

pin header for connecting DueX5, DueX2 or Duet Breakout Board, for additional stepper motors, heaters, temperature sensors, endstops, probes, fans etc. Pins can also be connected to individually for various additional functionality

The MCU driving the Duet boards has considerably more inputs and outputs than are used on the main board. Many additional lines are available on the expansion connector. The DueX2 and DueX5 expansion boards add 2 and 5 extra channels respectively. There are 2 more channels available on the CONN_LCD header, giving a total of 12 stepper channels. Up to 7 external stepper drivers when not using Duex expansion board. Signal levels are 3.3V. A 5-channel expansion breakout board is available to level shift them to 5V.Port (non MDIX). Connect to an Ethernet switch, hub or MDIX enabled laptop port. If connecting to a non MDIX enabled port use a crossover cable. Orange LED on Ethernet port indicates Ethernet enabled, green LED indicates network activity. There’s a lot to like about the Duex Plus on paper: if you want two screens on your laptop then the ability to slide a second panel into view is a boon, and the fact that it attaches to laptops makes it easier to use. The choice to exclude an HDMI port is fine because the DUEX Max may then use a single cable for both power and data. Mobile Pixels does consider that you may be limited to USB-A 3.0 plugs on your notebook, which makes the DUEX Max truly plug and play. While the display itself doesn't push the boundaries, the inclusion of the G-Sensor is a nice, useful touch. On top of that, being able to use it in portrait mode could also be useful in stationary desktop environments. Being a portable screen, you may use it with mobile devices capable of piping out video, like the Nintendo Switch. However, in that case, you will also have to find a separate power source for the second port. Another way to use 2 PSUs would be to use one to power the bed heater only and the other to power everything else. More importantly, the frame weighs just about 1.5 pounds and gives you an extended display that is almost 12.5-inches wide and will fit most modern laptops (13-inch to 17.5-inch).

Stepper motor connections. Z MOTOR has two 4-pin KK headers, wired in series, for convenient connection of two Z axis stepper motors to ZA and ZB. If you only have one Z-Axis stepper motor, connect it to ZA connector and ensure jumpers are installed on the ZB connector; without a second stepper motor or the jumpers in place on ZB, ZA will not function. Changed to a resettable VSSA fuse. Now if the thermistor inputs are connected to VIN, the VSSA fuse should reset rather than needing to be replaced.

Both Duex® 868 and standard Duex® can also be supplied in a lighter 6/5/6 configuration, however IAE would always recommend using heavier 8/6/8 panels in a sporting environment. The PCB is designed to transfer heat from the stepper drivers and power mosfets to the underside of the board. Therefore your mounting method should encourage good airflow underneath the board. RRF 2.x - Disable a heater using M307 H# A-1 C-1 D-1 to make the pin available, where # is the heater number, and make sure that no tool is configured to use that heater. On the white pre-production boards in some wiring configurations, if you reset the Duet 2 WiFi by pressing the Reset button when the motors are energised, then the stepper motors may move while the Reset button is held down. This is fixed in the production boards.

If you power up the Duet before you power up the DueX, the stepper drivers on the DueX won't get initialised. Ideally power them up at the same time, or the DueX first. Inherited from Middle French deux, from Old French deus, from Latin duōs, masculine accusative plural of duo, from Proto-Italic *duō, from Proto-Indo-European *dwóh₁. To break the circuit to make the DueX5 appear to be a DueX2, gently remove the copper ring of the jumper using a 1mm drill bit and confirm its removal by testing between the two pads using a multi-meter; there should be no connection. If the VIN to the DueX goes below the minimum level (about 10V) then the stepper drivers on the DueX will stop functioning, but you won't be warned about it, because VIN to the DueX is not monitored separately.
