About this deal

Please try to ensure a piece of jewellery is worn in the piercing for at least 12 months after it has healed, if jewellery needs to be removed for any reason, it is advisable to wear a retainer to ensure your piercing does not close up. This saline solution is normal saline, or sterile saline, made with just purified water and sodium chloride. Steri-wash products are used in hospitals and other emergency care settings for wounds and burns. Plus, the cap twists shut to avoid spills or accidental sprays. Obtain some pure chamomile tea bags (make sure there is no real tea or caffeine in the teabags), steep a teabag in boiling water for a few minutes then fish it out and let it cool ever so slightly just to a point where you do not burn yourself, but you still want it to be as hot as you can stand. Wrap it around the piercing and hold it there under gentle compress until the teabag has gone stone cold. Repeat. Do this instead of one of your daily cleans.

Hot compresses will soothe the area and draw out any trapped pollutants such as perfume or hairspray or everyday dust etc. It also opens up tiny blood vessels surrounding the piercing and helps fluid drain, feeling all together more comfortable. Sprays are ideal for piercings in a location that is hard to reach or otherwise challenging to soak for a few minutes. Sprays are portable, so they are good for on-the-go, low-maintenance, or immediate care. That’s it! It takes less time than brushing your teeth, and these simple steps will help you avoid infections, piercing bumps, and many other common piercing complications. You must continue to clean your piercing until your piercer has confirmed that healing is complete. Please do not remove or replace the initial piercing jewellery until it is fully healed aside from returning to the studio at the time advised by your piercer for your essential downsize. Anti-inflammatory effect – Several chemical compounds within chamomile such as bisabolol, chamazulene, apigenin, loteolin have anti-inflammatory properties (this is why its so helpful for soothing piercing problems!) NeilMed is the must-have aftercare product to cleanse & care for your jewellery piercings. The piercing aftercare spray sterile saline solution is isotonic and preservative free.

This mouthwash is a treatment for oral piercings that tastes a lot better than rinsing with a pure saline or salt solution. It's sea salt-based with natural flavors and xylitol. There's no alcohol or fluoride that might slow the healing of your piercing, either. It has other benefits, like helping with canker sores. It's also available in a lemon flavor. Saline solution is used to clean wounds because it is non-toxic and does not damage the healing tissue. It also doesn't detract moisture from the affected area. Avoid playing or fiddling with the piercing using dirty fingers. This will likely increase healing time, cause it to swell, and/or cause an infection. When cleaning, ensure any balls or attachments on your jewellery are tightened as they can come loose easily due to the natural movement of the area. DO NOT USE any bottled re-sealable piercing solutions like those from Claires Accessories or online. Despite the fact that these are marketed as a piercing aftercare solution, they often contain nasty preservatives and do not have a sterile delivery method – this means that once opened they carry a high risk of causing infection due to growth of Pseudomona aeruginosa or Notuberculosis Mycobacteria (NTM). The only way to protect yourself against this is to buy a sterilised product, with a sterile delivery method such as H2Ocean or Stericlens. Chamomile compresses are cheap and effective. Chamomile compresses are not sterile, but the natural antibiotic qualities of chamomile fight infection and as such it can be considered instead of sterile saline or hot/dry compresses. The only other potential risk with chamomile is a very low risk of allergic reaction, we genuinely have more clients allergic to titanium than chamomile, but its important to mention.

Piercing How to Care for Your New Navel Piercing

Before use, spray a short stream of Neil Cleanse Piercing Aftercare in the air or on intact skin to test the stream and clear the nozzle. Overall, navel piercing aftercare is no different than any other piercing. However, it is unique because of the significant healing period and its vulnerable position. As long as you keep your piercing clean, take care of yourself, and remain mindful throughout the healing process, then you shouldn’t encounter any issues. Can everyone get their belly button pierced? Spray the solution onto a piece of clean lint free kitchen roll and ‘soak’ the piercing for a couple of minutes. Then use a clean cotton bud dipped in the solution to remove any ‘crusty’ bits of secretion that should now be nice and soft thanks to the soak.

Where We’re Located

If you’ve had surgery in the belly button area, you may or may not be able to have your navel pierced, depending on the scar tissue in the area and the type of surgery that you’ve had. Have your piercer take a look to let you know whether a navel piercing is possible for you. You want a 0.9% sterile saline solution to clean your piercing with. It should be Sterilised, pre-mixed, and have a sterile delivery method like a can spray that ensures bacteria cannot enter the can once opened.
