About this deal

Few books have touched me so deeply as Finding Bear. When you read it, you’ll feel as if the Arctic is running through your veins, too. It’s impossible not to get profoundly invested in the lives of Hannah Gold’s brilliant characters. An unstoppable, heartwarming sequel of extreme importance. I’ll be recommending this book forever' Carlie Sorosiak - Through April’s journey, author Hannah Gold takes us to a “complete, unfiltered wilderness” — through glaciers, fjords and ice caves, a scape made even more dangerous from the scars of human activity. A triumphant return to April and Bear's world, this time with the loveliest baby bear. A roaringly snowy adventure' Nizrana Farook

I loved The Last Bear, so I was very excited to read Finding Bear, the second book in the series, and It was everything I hoped for and more. Hannah has created something so special. My children love these books as much as I do, and they will be cherished forever. Stunningly illustrated, this touching environmental story of surviving and thriving is both scientifically accurate and magically inspiring” - Daily Mail Fans were then left heartbroken when Sarah made an unexpected return to social media after two years. Sharing a snap of herself taken in hospital, Sarah announced that earlier in 2020 she had been diagnosed with breast cancer while going on to share the devastating news it had advanced to other parts of her body. This is gorgeous writing for both young readers up to adults. Joyous escapism and getting the true message across to children about the plight of the polar bears who are facing starvation today. The way it’s blended just works. It’s not preachy or over the top and the storytelling is lovely. But your dreams, April. You dream of saving the world. That’s what makes you different. That’s what makes you extraordinary.” The unmissable follow-up to the phenomenal bestselling and award-winning The Last Bear . Beautifully illustrated by Levi Pinfold and perfect for readers 8+

I have not read the first book about Bear by Hannah Gold, so I was slightly apprehensive about beginning with the sequel. And it did take me a couple of chapters to really become immersed in the story. But Finding Bear is an absolutely beautiful story. My biggest fear was failure but realised I would rather try and fail than never try at all.” Bear Island north of Norway. Photo: Google MapsSo far Hannah, who lives in Stamford, has had her work translated into 25 languages and copies sell around the world. When Hannah Gold’s The Last Bear was published, I think it took everyone by surprise with its phenomenal readership. Everyone wanted a copy and now they can all have the sequel which is an equally phenomenal and beautiful story. In case you didn’t read The Last Bear, I suggest you do, here is a brief overview – Bear Island is the setting and despite its name it no longer has any bears, at least no polar bears. That is what April has been told by her father whose scientific research is taking him to this remote Arctic location for six months. But then April meets a polar bear, staving, hungry and a long way from home. April and the bear set out on the most important journey of her life and the story is breath-taking. It was the catalyst for the story,” she said. “And I realised it was impossible to write about a polar bear without writing about climate change.” I thoroughly enjoyed Hannah Gold's first book in this series - Finding Bear - and was more than excited when I heard there would be a sequel. As a fellow Arctic fanatic, I wanted to follow up on April's previous adventures with Bear - a polar bear she helped rescue in the first book.
