About this deal

Some context: it came on the market in 2005, created by Lotta Luv, a New York cosmetics company that specialized in licensing flavors from well-known brands. Brands such as coca-cola, Hershey's, holly rangers, Stardust, among others have dipped in this area. Well, in 2005, Frito-Lay thought the answer was a resounding yes, and so they introduced Cheetos-flavored lip balm. Disclaimer: I feel it’s pretty obvious, but no, Cheetos did not send me free product to try so I would review it on my blog. Now, while I haven’t actually tried this product, I feel like I can give a relatively accurate review of the product based on assumptions and past experiences.

So days/weeks/months later when your marketing campaign or product idea hasn't landed well with your audience, you might be sitting there scratching you head wondering why. But the name just didn't work with the product, as consumers just weren't looking for a candy they could drink. Introduced in 2000 and available in green, purple, and teal, the idea was to make ketchup more fun and appealing for kids. In the 1990s, there was near-universal ABSOLUTE LOATHING for “Clippy,” the painfully annoying MS-Office assistant that would continually pop-up whenever it thought a user needed some help. These are just some of the profound products throughout history that have transformed and enriched the world.

But still, in some way we have to respect the fact that these companies took a chance and tried to do something successful. In the case of Crayola, it just makes sense to assume that people would receive well makeup from a brand that is famous for colors and pigments. Not surprisingly, the product failed to connect with consumers who preferred their lip balm to taste and smell like familiar flavors such as vanilla, cherry, mint, orange, and so on.

Some of the other odd lip-balm flavors they offered included Hostess Ding Dongs, Cracker Jack, Junior Mints, fourteen flavors of Snapple, and Lay’s Sour Cream and Onion. You weren’t supposed to be eating Cheetos before dinner, but you wanted the cheesy goodness on your lips, on your tongue and in your belly. If you compare the other brands that have launched lip balm before we can see how the flavors are different.

OK, let’s just admit it: Every parent at one time or another has decided that baby food looks and smells kind of good (especially after a long and tiring day), and sometimes the spoon of mashed peas or apple puree ends up in their mouth instead of their infant’s. The balm is enriched with Vitamin E for intense nourishment, and its special formula is long-lasting and will keep your lips feeling soft and supple throughout the day.I’m just thinking that if you had two flavors: Cheese and cherry, people would go for the product that does the same thing with a more recognizable flavor. Thinking about them now, I keep picturing that pungent cheesey scent, the styrofoam-like texture, and the way the orange "cheese" rubbed off on your fingers and mouth and stained them for what felt like forever, even after you licked them off. The day I get Cheetos lip balm in my mailbox for a product review is the day I know I’ve hit the big time. Are you the kind of person who keeps a lip balm in every bag, coat pocket, and desk drawer, just in case? Granted, introducing disposable underwear does not qualify as “great attempt,” but the advice is nevertheless essential and inspiring!

When I heard about the new Burger King Whopper Bar, my immediate thought was that it wouldn't be the first place I'd go for a cocktail.A number of sites (such as USA Today) list Cheetos Lip Balm as one of the greatest product flops of all time.
