About this deal

The operating temperature shows the safe temperature range (from minimum to maximum), within which the display will function flawlessly. Outside this range it might operate improperly and/or fail entirely. The design features a monitor with a white body and stand. The rear panel bears the MSI logo along with some vague attempts at improving the aesthetics. Overall, it offers little if you are seeking great aesthetics. Information about the average amount of time, in which the pixels change from one color to another. This will automatically select the best possible setting to use the LG UltraFine 27 inch 5K with a Mac although it may only be half of the monitors full resolution.

Unfortunately, the screen offers only a 5120×1440 resolution. This means you get a 108PPI pixel density. Hence, there is a slight compromise on the level of detail. But remember, this is a high-performance gaming monitor, and that level of detail is better suited for editing. Features Also, the PS341WU has a fully ergonomic design that ensures you do not feel any physical strain while working. It supports tilt, swivel, and height adjustments to give you the perfect viewing angle. After running a few tests, it’s easy to see why this display is so eye-catching — because it’s good, right out of the box. At 1020-to-1 the Ultrafine 5K’s contrast ratio lends everything a unique sense of depth, and eclipses even the stellar Samsung CFG791, which came in at 910-to-1. Ultrawide monitors are preferred over dual monitors because they provide more screen real estate in a single, seamless desktop without the annoying bezels. With screen split and KVM switch features, you can view multiple apps side-by-side or connect two PCs simultaneously, just like you would with dual monitors. You can also get full 5K UHD 5120 x 2880 resolution with the 27MD5KL-B UltraFine including when connected to the latest M1 and M2 Macs such as the Apple Silicon M1 MacBook Pro and Mac Studio. With 5K resolution, and 220 pixels per inch, even text appears inky, smooth, and as sharp as a pen stroke. I managed to score a used lg 5k UltraFine in good condition. It is the older version that only supports thunderbolt.

Finally, the 27 inch LG 27MD5KL-B only comes with a one year LG guarantee compared to 3 years with the 34 inch 5K LG34BK95U-W UltraFine. My video card is a AMD radeon 5700 xt with 3 displayports and 1 hdmi. 2 displayports are connected to the titan ridge card. However, unlike the 34 inch 5K LG display, the 27 inch 5K does not support High Dynamic Range (HDR) or Dolby Vision which helps makes bright and dark parts of an image incredibly intense and contrasted. I went ahead and used DispalCAL GUI & my ColorMunki and iDisplay1 to profile the LG and it looks like the white point is set around 6500K and has good calibration from the factory. I can post the color gamut for those interested. Besides its pixel-perfect display, this monitor has many things to love. LG 27MD5KL-B is one of the few monitors with macOS integration. You can adjust different display settings, such as brightness, directly in macOS without using the physical buttons on the monitor.

A Flexible Workstation

The LG 32GP850-B is a 32-inch gaming monitor that product testers have hailed for delivering an enjoyable big-screen PC gaming experience, and although it doesn’t have a 4K screen resolution like the LG 32UL500-W its high out-of-the-box color accuracy also left reviewers from Rtings fairly impressed, as they confirmed that images on the monitor were sharp and well detailed. They also found out that the monitor had outstanding gradient handling, and because of this, they concluded that it would also be an excellent option to consider for media creation. During their tests, experts from Display Ninja also noted that the monitor had pretty high image accuracy when viewed from the side and attributed this to two things: its wide viewing angles and impeccable reflection handling which is courtesy of its matte screen finish. However for video editing on a Mac, you may be better with the 5K LG 34 inch screen as the bigger screen estate allows video editors to have video assets open on a 5:9 area while also editing or watching a 16:9 4K video on the same screen.

Like most ultrawide monitors, Dell U4021QW has screen splitting software and a built-in KVM switch, great for folks editing on two PCs such as a Mac and Windows. The 27 inch screen is generous and as big as the 27 inch iMac to provide plenty of space for multi-tasking, especially at full 5K. This seems to be because that in some cases, the monitor does not save the settings and keeps resetting itself on waking-up.

I have the 27MD5KL (2019 LG 5K) and wanted to pair it with my new PC, which is running a Nvidia 3080 Founders Edition. This newer version of the monitor supports video over USB-C. Going through an EDID emulator device does work. If I set the emulator to pass-through, the Roku says the monitor/adapter can support 4K@60Hz SDR with HDCP 2.2 — but no image appears if I choose the 60Hz option on the Roku. Most other emulator settings will show image (including 4K@30Hz) but the color is completely off (purple-green, see attachment). The 4K version is a different deal though. The new revision is basically a completely different display. The size has increased from 21.5" to 23.7" while the resolution was lowered from 4096x2304 to 3840x2160. In addition, the 4 USB-C ports on the old display has been changed to 3 USB-C ports and 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports with the latter supporting 85W of power delivery in total.
