Texture. I like how this feels creamier and more luxurious than an oil cleanser. It’s incredibly spreadable too so a little goes a long way. As always, remember that every person’s skin and skin type is different so what might work for me might not work for you, and vice versa. Using the provided spatula, I scoop a small amount of balm (about the size of an almond — a little goes a long way) and gently massage the product on my dry face. It turns to oil as soon as it touches my skin.

And yes, it does come with mineral oil. As you may have heard, mineral oil is a very sensitive topic because it has gotten a bad rap over the years as a cosmetic ingredient. I have my opinions about mineral but that's for another post at another time. All I have to say for now is that my studies at esthetician school have verified that mineral oil that is used in cosmetics is not harmful and is a great formula used to gently deep clean and remove debris from the face.I have sensitive skin so I chose the Purifying formula. This is the Revitalising version of the cult favourite hypoallergenic cleanser, formulated especially lightweight for oily-combination skin. So what’s changed in the formula? Mineral oil has been replaced with natural ester oil, butylated hydroxytoluene is replaced with skin-friendly vitamin E acetate (allowing this cleanser to be used on all skin types, even kids!), and butyl parahydroxybenzoate has been replaced with phenoxyethanol, an ingredient naturally derived from green tea to provide a fresh, rose scent. Even more, the texture of the cleanser has been improved to be even smoother and softer with a higher melting point, meaning no more summer meltdowns! Drying. My skin always feels tight after using this product, which is disappointing because the cleansing routine itself is very pleasant. My face also doesn’t feel as smooth and plump after, compared to when I use my regular cleansing oil.
