About this deal

When I started the remix originally, I started it a couple different ways, undecided as to how to finish it. Originally, I went ahead and finished it in South American fusion, as you heard previously. But, after the fact, I really loved what I had started here in Maniacs of Noise style, so I wanted to finish it. Personally, I like the way this version came out much better. Another quality release from Virgin. Newcomers to the handheld scene and platform addicts will love this. Diehard gamers may find it a bit easy but It’s fun while it lasts and a game you’ll want to play again anyway. I find it hard to believe that you would play Global Gladiators because Ronald McDonald is your hero and that McDonald's is your favorite place to eat and hang out. Regardless of these two reasons, I would play the game because it is the type of platform games where you do not have to kill shit, but accomplish some objectives. The Global Gladiators looks and sounds amazing and is a testament to the creativity at Virgin. Beyond the technical aspects, its nice to see a game show some interest in an environmentalist message and racial diversity. In another comparison with Cool Spot, the primary weapon in Global Gladiators cannot be upgraded and you may get a tad tired of shooting out short range slime from water guns.

What, no fries? Not for The Global Gladiators! Kitted-out with a goo gun each and a smile, they’re ready to take the world by storm. Let’s go CFC-busting! Watch out aerosols, your time is up. The original American Gladiators series was created by Johnny C. Ferraro and Dan Carr and developed by Johnny C. Ferraro.Great level design with a few interesting themes - especially the first, phlegm-tastic looking 'Slime World.' Scour those levels from top to bottom ‘cos those symbols are in some pretty awkward places. If you miss one M, it could be the difference between leaving the level and having to retrace your steps to locate it! Not good when the sands of time are running dry!

SEGA" is a trademark of Sega Enterprises, Ltd. Licensed by Sega Enterprises Ltd. for play on the "SEGA MASTER SYSTEM". The game engine is the same used in other Virgin Interactive games such as Cool Spot and Disney's Aladdin, as all of them (Mega Drive/Genesis versions) were handled by David Perry's programming team, which eventually turned into Shiny Entertainment. There’s more to it than gathering the thirteenth letter of the alphabet! If you collect enough of the blighters, you enter a bonus stage. Time for a spot of recycling! Catch the litter and place each piece in the correct dustbin. Just like those aluminium recycling gizmos you see in the high street! Global Gladiators is a fine example of Virgin 2D platforming that looks and sounds amazing. Our two young heroes are given water pistols (which look similar to the Super Soaker water gun) and told to help clean up the environment, which has come under assault from toxic monsters. Harris, Steve; Semrad, Ed; Alessi, Martin; Sushi-X (September 1992). "Review Crew: Global Gladiators". Electronic Gaming Monthly. Sendai Publishing. p.24. They are guided in their quest by Ronald McDonald, who appears at the beginning and the end of the game. The characters are armed with a Super Soaker-type gun that shoots gooey projectiles.

Using a script or add-on that scans GameFAQs for box and screen images (such as an emulator front-end), while overloading our search engine Like Cool Sport, Global Gladiators does not have bosses at the end of each level and the in-game story line is kept to a bare minimum. There are specific color schemes that relate to each world. Since the first world is called "Slimeworld", for example, you only see green monsters and green structures. In "Arctic", you only see white animals that roam around. As well as the enemies, the characters are drawn perfectly. The game box describes the graphics as "bodacious", but I wouldn't go that far. I would describe them as very good. Global Gladiators is a 1992 platform game developed by Virgin Games USA, originally programmed by David Perry for the Sega Genesis and eventually ported by other Virgin Games teams in Europe to the Master System, Game Gear, and Amiga. The game is based on the McDonald's fast food chain and has a strong environmentalist message.

Translated Materials

Gladiators (11 x 60’) is a Hungry Bear and MGM Alternative UK for BBC One and BBC iPlayer and was commissioned by Kate Phillips, Director of Unscripted. The Executive Producers are Dan Baldwin and Lou Brown for Hungry Bear and Dom Bird and Johnny C. Ferraro for MGM Alternative UK. The Head of Entertainment Commissioning for the BBC is Kalpna Patel-Knight and the Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Clodagh O’Donoghue.

A Game Boy port of the title was also fully developed (by Damian Stones, of Climax) but was never released for the same legal reasons as the Super Nintendo port. The 11-part series made by Hungry Bear Media and MGM Alternative UK will see a new generation of superhuman Gladiators compete against a brave set of contenders in the ultimate test of speed and strength. They will take part in a series of brand new games alongside classic challenges, climaxing with fan-favourite The Eliminator. The water guns have unlimited ammo, shooting a short range green slime, and the environmentalist-themed levels have plenty of standard 2D secrets to find (i.e. invisible platforms, extra lives, health restoration, etc). Amazingly enough, the video game is able to stand on its own as a fun 2D platformer. It does not have shameful plugs for the fast food industry. Beyond the familiar Golden Arches and the marginally helpful Ronald McDonald, the game stays clear of telling kids to eat more fast food.
