The Corner Mount can angle your Ring Video Doorbell to improve motion detection and provide a better view. Your existing chime needs to be bypassed because the new (included) transformer is powerful and runs on DC rather than AC current. Not bypassing will cause damage to your existing chime. Follow the sound to find your chime and make a mental note of the location. We'll return to your existing doorbell chime soon. 2. Turn off power at the consumer unit WARNING: Professional installation recommended. Turn off the power to your existing doorbell first.

If you haven’t already, mount and set up your Ring Video Doorbell according to the instructions provided with your doorbell.Disconnect the 4 wires from your existing transformer, and remove it from your fusebox or other install location. Connect these 4 wires to your new transformer, making sure not to swap the mains and secondary wires. Insert the wire ends into each clamp-down terminal, and tighten each connection with a small Phillips screwdriver. Make sure that each wire is securely clamped for a solid connection. Locate the output cables that are connected to your doorbell. These may be connected to the terminals marked ‘output’, ‘8-12 V AC’ or a similar low voltage. Disconnect these cables and put them to one side. Note: If you are running the wire up your wall (instead of through it) DO NOT over-tighten the screws. 13. Restore power at the consumer unit

This can be done by turning off the mains power switch, or by turning off the power coming into your home at your electric meter. After you've located your doorbell chime and turned off the power at the consumer unit, remove the cover from your chime and set it aside for now. If you're setting up with a Plug-In Adapter, you can choose to temporarily connect your doorbell to your home wifi network before physically installing your device.Therefore using a bell transformer for continuous use determines a temperature rise of the transformer which could cause it to stop supplying power, unless the work/pause cycle allows the transformer to sufficiently cool down.

The bypass cable has wire connectors for either end. On each connector, flip up the lever that corresponds to the open wire port. Consult an electrician if you are unsure. Loop one doorbell wire around each of the screw terminals on the rear of your Video Doorbell Wired, then tighten the terminals to secure. 12. Screw in your Ring Video Doorbell using hardware in bag A Remove the existing transformer by unclipping it from the mounting rail. You may need to use a flat head screwdriver to do this. If, like most doorbells in Europe, your doorbell only works at 8 or 12 VAC, your existing transformer won't have enough power to support your Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 and will need to be replaced by the included 24Vdc Ring DIN Rail Transformer.
