About this deal

For those who paint plastic models, the cutting surface remains smooth and clean even if the blade is cut along the part without leaving a gate, thus shortening the time for gate processing with files or knives. When the cutting edge and the cutting board edge are not aligned, it will result in an unclean cut and possible chipping and breaking of the blades. Single Edged Structure is where one blade is the “Cutting Edge” and the other blade is the “Cutting board Edge”, like a knife and a cutting board. Ultimate Nipper’s superior sharpness comes from its thinly refined cutting edge and single-edge structure for a clean cutting. Here’s all four of the side cutters I use regularly. Left: God Hand. Top: Tamiya. Right: Mr. Super Tool Set. Bottom: Gundam Planet. Notice how obvious it is that the God Hand has the shortest and smallest (but by far the sharpest) blades of them all.

There also consider the durability of our customers to focus on next sharpness degradation of sharpness. I will still use my Tamiya snips, after all they do a good job and we always need a set of snips for larger items or resin and the God Hand SPN-120s are intended for plastic only. But if the God Hands hold up then they will become a permanent tool on my bench. If you have a steady hand, and are accustomed to cutting your parts as close to the part as possible (like I do), then these will probably remove most all parts without the need for sanding. When trying to slice-cut a 3 mm dia. runner, the blade moves in smoothly and finishes cutting without sound.

Having said that, when you use the GodHands correctly, you get a smooth cut with a miniscule amount of white plastic in the middle of plastic piece or runner. Compared to most nippers, the cut surface is much cleaner and neater, which makes it a good choice for those who want to complete plastic models without painting.

The sharpness of the cutting edge achieves a smooth cut surface as if sharpened with a design knife and minimizes plastic whitening (a phenomenon in which the cut section turns white). If the cutting edge and the cutting board edge are aligned, even the slightest misuse will result in the edges being off. To see just how small, here’s the God Hand next to my second slimmest pair, my Gundam Planet premium side cutters. (In a way this is a great recommendation of the Gundam Planet side cutters as a budget alternative, because look at how similar they are to nippers twice their price!) If I make sure I’m holding the nippers exactly parallel with the part, I don’t leave an indent or raised angle. If I do it right, I can skip right to filing or sanding. Will the God Hands hold up over time? No Idea. They seem to be built very well, they have a built-in stop to prevent them from opening too wide, and another to prevent you from squeezing them to hard, and they included a cover to protect the tips, but sure, they may dull over time and need to be sharpened or replaced. If that happens soon enough to me writing this review to be note worthy, then I will update the review, but for now I am simply amazed.

What makes the God Hand so maneuverable? Well other than their dangerous sharpness, they also have the shortest and slimmest blades of any of my side-cutters. The blade can cut plastics with ease and precision. Please do not grip the nippers with excessive force. Poor lubrication of moving parts causes wears on the shaft and rattling, leading to reduced sharpness. Please lubricate the moving parts regularly.

Searching Reddit’s r/gunpla/ community the other day, I saw a post titled “ What’s the single best nipper after God Hand?” To this poster, the fact that the God Hand Ultimate Nipper is undeniably number one on the nipper ranking isn’t up for debate. Please do not twist the blade during cutting or releasing from the runner. Twisting may cause it to break under load. The ultimate nipper consists of the cutting blade and the single edged structure which creates super clean cutting surface. Delivery times are estimates and can vary depending on delivery method selected, time of the year, weather and other factors. Sebum may cause rust. If you touch the metal parts directly, wipe off any fingerprints and dirt, and apply rust-preventive oil. The blade is thinner toward the tip and is more likely to break. Please cut as close to the center of the blade as possible. To cut off a 3mm plastic, the Ultimate nipper only requires a force of 2kg when a normal nipper requires a force of 3.5-10kg. Cutting Blade and “Single-Edged Structure” striving for clean cutting.

Usually, when I cut pieces out of the sprue, I leave a small nub that I can then cut off with an X-Acto knife. But the God Hand is so sharp and narrow that it can get right up against the part, allowing me to skip the knife step. With the God Hand, my process is this: When cutting small parts, it will not fly away. It will decrease the amount of time spent searching for the fly away parts. It is created one by one through blade edging and sharpening by well-experienced craftspersons in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture, a region famous for its cutlery. When cutting out small parts, parts are less likely to fly away, reducing the need to search for missing parts. Not for photo etched parts Ultra thin single edged! Ultimate Sharpness! . Ultra thin single edged brings excellent performance with less work time! For people who paint plastic models, this is the best nipper to use because when they cut along the edge, it leaves no remains of the gate. It leaves with a clean cut section. This shortens the time spent on filing the gate. The cutting board edge supports an object firmly while the gripping force changes to move the cutting edge smoothly.
