About this deal

Every driver's seen them, and every driver hates them -- those dang swirls on your car. It doesn't take much for them to appear, and once they're on, it can be difficult to get rid of them. That is unless you have the right product. Removing those spiderweb-like scratches in your vehicle's paint is as easy as using a high-quality swirl remover. What is it? Meguiars Ultimate Polish is a light polish that also contains glaze. It’s a light abrasive product designed to restore shine to faded paint.

If you have an older car with really faded paint you could use both products to get the best possible results. If you have a relatively new car or a car that has recently been professionally detailed or polished, you can get by just using Ultimate Polish. Which One Do I Use First? As much dirt as possible should be removed from your paint as this dirt could scratch your paint when you start using Ultimate Compound. Able to remove paint blemishes fast, the Meguiar's Scratch X is great for sorting out any isolated paint scratches. It’s used as part of the paint correction stage in car detailing. Compound is more aggressive than polish at cleaning your paint and removing scratches.Usually, you don’t need to spend as much time polishing. But it still benefits from multiple passes to work the light abrasives into the paint and restore the shine. Get Both when you want to get the best results possible. Use Ultimate Compound first and then use Ultimate Polish to improve gloss. You can even add wax or sealant on top. Polish will give a better shine than compound. So if you use the Polish first you will not get the best shine possible. Meguairs Ultimate Compound and Meguiars Ultimate Polish are two hugely popular products in the world of car detailing. Both are fantastic products and I’ve tested both of them many times.

No, you don’t need to buy both products together. But they do work well together if you choose to use them. Use Ultimate Compound first to clean and restore your paint. Use Ultimate Polish to add gloss and improve the appearance of your paint. Always work 2’ x 2’ section at a time. Using just the weight of the machine (no pressure) work area in 3-4 passes until polish becomes clear. For final pass adjust speed setting to between 1200-1800 RPMs. Work until optical clarity has been achieved. The only difference is that you might get better shine if you use a foam applicator pad instead of the microfiber pad you use with Ultimate Compound. How often can it be used? It can be used as often as needed as the abrasives are very light. Do I Need to Buy Both Products? Meguiars Scratch X is tough enough to get rid of fine scratches but gentle enough not to leave you with more. Unlike the more aggressive cutting compounds, Meguiars Scratch X has an advanced formulation that will both remove swirls and scratches and improve the paint colour. If your vehicle’s paint job has scarring and other small scratches, you don’t necessarily need to recoat it; a good swirl remover or polish may be enough. Paint swirls come from tiny scratches that aren’t visible by themselves unless you use a microscope. But together, this “micro-marring” adds up to a macro problem. Using a polishing pad, work the VSS Scratch & Swirl Remover into the paintwork to remove swirls, scratches, and oxidation. Be sure to follow up swirl remover with the right products: After a swirl remover, which is essentially a polish, you should pull out some wax to seal things up. Or, if you're meticulous, use a glaze and then a wax.
