I was interested to see that this was an extended series, but the writing is just not of the Lee Childs calibre. And just with Star Trek, I personally think the original is better, but the next generation has its own merits and is enjoyable.For a Reacher style novel, you expect a certain amount of telling, because Reacher and his buddies are all about details.

The story kept my attention, and there were parts that were well written and made me want more of Jack Widow. Like a popcorn movie – it won’t ever win a prize, but it will satisfy your cravings for a quick thrill. With the passage of time, Jack Widow starts to realize that leaving his service was different from leaving his troubles behind.
