About this deal

Ideal for family camping trips, this inflatable tent can be pitched in 15-minutes giving you more time to enjoy the outdoors. Another factor that can be a great indication of product quality is the brand. Brands like Eurohike are of course extremely well known, especially for Inflatable Tents. The tent is clearly made to a price though. Its a third of the cost of the Berghaus, and it shows! The size is about the same (although spec tells me its slightly smaller), but the materials are not to the same quality. The air beams are fairly flimsy, but functional. The pump that comes with the tent is very basic - including a pressure regulator to prevent over inflation, but no dial to show the pressure. The pump tube must be pushed onto the air beam rather than clipped to it. This was VERY frustrating when blowing the tent up - you need a second person to hold the tube in place or it flies off. The Berghaus pump clips in place, and has a pressure dial so you know how you're doing.

Lastly, insects will easily find their way in, so it is essential to get a decent bug zapper, insect repellent lamp or other means of keeping the bugs out. I must admit, there is not much that could compete with the value for THIS price. The Eurohike Air 600 costs around the same price ( review here), but it has a different layout. I can work for 6 (or less people), so if you have never intended to use the Air Genus 800 as an 8-berth tent, than the Eurohike Air 600 may be an alternative. To give that price some context we then looked at all of the products available from Go Outdoors in the Inflatable Tents category. We found 5 items in total. What’s the price of Inflatable Tents? I should also add, that there’s very little information on the fabric and flysheet used by the Eurohike Genus 800. While Airgo openly admitted the low-end fabrics they used to keep the Air Genus 800 cheap, I can only assume that the Eurohike Genus 800 is not much of an improvement in this regard. Thirdly, don’t expect to be able to keep your dog inside, they will easily find their way out as soon as they smell the BBQ from the tent next door. The ‘T’ refers to the thread count (T), which is the number of threads used horizontally and vertically per square inch of fabric … 210T means a total of 210 threads. A higher thread count represents a greater density and tighter weave in the fabric. For this reason you will often find lower Denier fabrics (with a ‘thinner’ thread) have a higher thread count. Not in this case, 185T is a very low thread number. The material the product is made from is often a sign of the quality for Inflatable Tents. Take a look at the product details over at Go Outdoors to get a feel for this. There are however some methods that you can use to determine a product’s quality without needing to physically have it.

That got us thinking though, that we’re looking at every possible item from Eurohike so it would be good to narrow our search down even further and only look at Eurohike branded products within the Inflatable Tents category. The cost of Eurohike Inflatable Tents I'm a big fan of inflatable tents after having borrowed a Berghaus Air 8 last year. I bought this Airgo for a last minute camping trip Easter 2019. Great price, available for collection locally, and good spec. Now this is the part where I expect to add quite often that ‘considering its price’. As I said before, there will be some head-scratching moments, might be even a deal-breaker for some. Others would say that these are only smaller issues that are easy to live with, or not issues at all. We are all different, and that’s fine.An easily-pitched inflatable tent for up to eight, ideal for comfy weekends away with family or friends. An easily-pitched inflatable tent for up to eight, ideal for comfy weekends away with family or friends. Easy to pitch with inflatable air beams This means that polyester tents can get very hot when it is warm, and chilly when it gets cold. With the limited number of air vents, and the limited option to create a drought across the tent, the Air Genus would likely become baking hot in the summer, and rather cold in cooler seasons. Groundsheet I am trying not to repeat myself, but if you consider how much a traditional 8-man tent costs, yet alone an 8-men inflatable tent, it is easier to make those compromises with the Airgo Air Genus 800. Having said that, you’d probably better budget for some extra accessories to make your stay much more comfortable and memorable for the right reasons. These must-have accessories are for example, but not limited to:

The fully waterproof fabric keeps your protected from rain and features flame resistant coating for extra peace of mind.

About GO Outdoors

In this Airgo Air Genus 800 review I am going through all the good and all the bad things, revealing the ‘ugly truth’ about the Air Genus 800. I hoping to help you see a bit beyond the catchy marketing phrases. Update: I must admit, that it is a different, more practical but nonetheless valid approach. I am sure some of you will appreciate this practicality, and would not mind spending their time outside the tent anyways. When buying Inflatable Tents, the quality of the product is going to be one of the factors that you really scrutinise before you commit to buying.
