About this deal

I am sure that fans of fortitude in perfumes would be totally smitten by its power, while those who appreciate the original, probably, would hardly be impressed. As far as I can remember, it was the first fragrance with an overdose of amber-woody materials, although not as significant as we smell now. IFRA played (and still does) a substantial part in wrecking things down, with their yearly "banning and diluting" conventions, but so did consumers with their poorly made purchasing choices.

DAVIDOFF Cool Water Mild Deodorant Natural Spray, 75ml

If you truly want to experience something different and well made, something that radiates meaning in life just try one the aforementioned guys. The new Cool Water Intense inherited the signature style of its perfumer rather than the DNA of its original. I really can’t understand that such an excellent perfumer can create such a bad smelling fragrance with a mass appealing purpose. By pitching YOU whatever he is paid to pitch and masking it under "fragrance review" one person managed to turn the tide in the mens perfumery unfavourably for every true aficionado of fragrances.

Davidoff Cool Water Homme Eau De Toilette Spray, 125ml

Smells like an Adidas fragrance, uninspired and just using the name Cool Water for maybe getting some clients. You would think that the combination of coconut, mandarin and amber would have great potential, but not so much if you stop there. By the way, Dihydromyrcenol and Ambroxan were not anything unusual in fougere compositions at the time, as the first appeared in Azzaro Pour Homme in 1978, and both of them were used in Drakkar Noir. In my opinion, the brand made a smart move: Cool Water Intense is the best thing that has happened to Davidoff since 1988.Everything said about Dihydromyrcenol is applicable to these two unfortunate materials, victims of their own popularity. Cool Water Intense is fundamentally different from all previous flankers, which finally attracted well-deserved attention to the famous fragrance name and marked its revival.

If you're a regular user, please take a break, explore our other interesting content, and come back later. In this regard, Cool Water Intense is an absolute killer – adding to this property a decent amount of sweetness, it literally makes it dangerous for some sensitive people. Apparently, there is no Dihydromyrcenol at all in the new perfume, while the original contains about 20%. The original Cool Water is also remarkable for the use of natural materials; lavender and geranium are among them.

The absolutely brutish amplification of three basic notes does absolutely nothing to elevate any of them to something new or better. The second signature material, which we mentioned above, is fruity-metallic Allyl Amyl Glycolate (the original Cool Water contains an outrageous 3% of it which is 150% more than in any fougere before Cool Water), and the third one, Dinascone, have been entirely eliminated from Cool Water Intense as well.

Cool Water Intense is nothing else than a cheap, lousy garbage of contemporary "perfumery" that is hard to differentiate from other garbage on the market these days. You can certainly notice some tricks from Azzaro Visit for Men, which Annick Menardo created in 2003. Moreover, the perfumery that has come after is what we know as modern fougere – super fresh, aquatic perfumes that have very little in common with classic fougeres from the time before Cool Water. If you add Calone, Helional, Floralozone and Musks to the substances mentioned above, you get a typical throw-back fresh fougere from the '90s.
