About this deal

Remember, it is essential to handle the Ethernet Adapter with care during unboxing and avoid any physical damage. The Standard hardware wasn’t designed for anything too advanced, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Starlink intentionally limited the Ethernet Adapter in some way. We need our dish to be able to do both, and I want to use the mesh nodes, not a third-party wifi router. I will also share some additional resources regarding Starlink accessories and permanent mounting options.

Remember, it is always important to follow the instructions provided by Starlink and refer to their official documentation for any specific guidelines or troubleshooting steps. You’ll be able to install a mesh node near your desktop PC and have a wired Ethernet connection, just like if you were plugged into the main router. With the Bypass Mode provided in the Starlink app on your mobile phone, you can turn off all Wi-Fi functionality and use Ethernet. Even if you plan to permanently mount the dish on your roof, I recommend testing with the included base. The Starlink Ethernet Adapter provides a convenient solution for Starlink users who want to enjoy the benefits of a wired connection. Starlink is also used by small businesses as well, for both backup at work and also for their home offices if they work from there. For permanent installations, you’ll have to drill a hole to route the cable through the exterior of your home. The company has introduced an Ethernet port in these kits, allowing users to connect the adapter to their devices and access the internet.

I was told by our tech person we can have either WiFi or a hardwire connection, but not both, with the high-performance dish, and it has something to do with the shape of the plug where the ethernet adapter plugs into the HP equipment. Do you think it’s possible that on cutting the lead it could have damaged some of the Ethernet circuitry and so now the Ethernet part of the adapter doesn’t work but the starlink bit still does? However, the Starlink Ethernet adapter’s introduction reintroduces the feature for those who would like it. This setup worked amazingly well, including on a 1500 nautical mile passage from the US to the BVI — with high speed internet the entire way.We will also provide troubleshooting tips for common issues you may encounter during the setup process. The router is now centrally located in the house but I would like to have about 100m2 garden coverage (now its about 10m2) and a small cabin 15 meters from the router (with thick walls inbetween) should also be available. If so, and you are doubled NAT’ed (having two routers on the same network), that can cause issues like this. This small mount goes up with just two screws and lets you put the dish at roof height without drilling through shingles. As with the standard Cable Routing Kit, this is a DIY process, so read up on what you're doing, or phone a friend with experience before you start drilling.
