Trying to find things i don't like is hard as the LCT440 is a dynamite performer on everything i've put in front of it so far.The leap in quality of recorded sound has made a big impression upon me and i'm over the moon i made the choice of Lewitt. Both versions offer five polar patterns (nine if you include blended options), three pad and low cut filter options that make them applicable on numerous instruments. The 80Hz low-cut, in particular, is handy for rolling off low-end rumble mitigating environmental noise.

Now, it’s important to make the distinction between the RODE NT1 and the RODE NT1-A. Although these two microphones share many similarities, there’s ONE major difference that made me go with the NT1. However, if I had the choice between all 4… I’d go with the Lewitt. That’s partly because the TLM-103 has a high-frequency roll-off after 16 kHz. Both of these microphones are useful, versatile additions to any mic collection. Despite being the cheaper of the two, the LCT 240 Pro could easily find a role in many professional-mic collections, as the voicing will definitely suit some instruments more than others; while the LCT 440 Pure is a more neutral-sounding microphone that would make an excellent choice for anyone looking to just add one detailed, high-quality condenser to their collection – there’s nothing it won’t sound at least pretty good on, and it will make many things sound great.It’s been gaining some popularity recently and with good reason! Some of its owners have gone as far as comparing this budget condenser microphone to the esteemed Sennheiser MKH 416. A look at the frequency response graph shows that the mic exhibits the familiar large-diaphragm presence lift, in this instance reaching a peak in the region of 12kHz with a lesser peak at 4kHz, though the rise up into the presence region is quite gentle, which suggests the mic should sound more airy than aggressive. The low end only rolls off by around 2 to 3 dB at 20Hz, so for some applications a low-cut filter on the desk or preamp might be advised. At the high end the response doesn’t start to drop away until above 20kHz. Pure & Simple

All other things being equal, capsule size can have a huge impact on the sonic characteristics of a microphone. A smaller capsule has less mass than a larger capsule, and so can respond to transients faster than a larger capsule. There are also benefits to high-frequency response and to directionality when using small-diaphragm cardioid capsules. The most impressive thing about this microphone is the sound it captures. It is very detailed and refined, with clear reproduction of sound source(s). It's neutral and true to the source, without coloration, but tuned to give a slight boost in high frequencies. It has nothing in similar with the nasty/piercing sound of the overly bright cheep condenser microphones.
