If the animals had been asking him for the donuts, then the lesson in manners would make sense, but since the panda offers and then denies each one, it just makes him seem very rude. This is kind of shocking since this books seems to be simply a book to teach children to use “please” and “thank you”. You will find many creative activities based on each book to make reading even more enjoyable and interactive.
