This year, with funding from local councils, Book of You also set up a 'Care Home Buddy' Project, recruiting and training volunteers within Denbighshire, Conwy and Pembrokeshire to visit and befriend care home residents for an hour once a week, many of whom have dementia. Once, during the late 1940s or early 1950s, wagons at Derwen Station were left without their brakes on properly and the result was that they ran downhill freely through all the stations, before coming to a halt on the level at Llanrhaerdr. The story follows Clarissa as she’s relieved to be called on jury duty because that means she can get away from her colleague that won’t leave her alone and she can finally have some peace. The book switches from things happening in the moment, in the court (told in 3rd person) and the journal entries (1st person) and that was done great; I personally enjoyed the journal entries more, although maybe enjoyed isn’t the right word as it shows her feelings and thoughts while being stalked by her co-worker. As the story progresses the stalking becomes more extreme, and it was so well written that her fear can be felt; I made my skin crawl.
