Though I am not a techie or a perfectionist or even someone that can buy expensive, I am only able to give an honest opinion to something that I can afford.In the Standard mode the speaker’s delivery is deliberately flat. I think it works well. Vocals are prioritised and it’s easy to understand what’s being said. It’s not particularly wide or tall, but the Theatre option is there for a more expansive presentation. Vocals, however, are less emphasised. Dolby Vision IQ takes Dolby Vision to the next level, making it the ultimate HDR-type picture processor. Dolby Vision IQ version uses data within the signal and light sensors inside the TV to adjust the picture quality for the best contrast. This improves the picture’s brightness, without ‘washing out’ the depth. You get a consistent picture quality, however light or dark your room is. Whether you’re watching a brightly lit sports event or moody movie, Dolby Vision IQ adjusts to suit. The first of two new laser TVs, the 100L9G-DLT100 TriChroma features a bright and detailed ALR screen regardless of the lighting conditions in your home. There’s also X-Fusion technology support for over 25000 hours of entertainment and over 1000 movies. Switch to standard-def content from the built-in tuner and the Hisense copes much better, largely because the higher frame rate of the signal requires less processing from the TV, and the motion smearing issue is almost gone. The Staten Island Ferry scene shows that this Hisense has a good handle on colour. The blue sky, the yellow ferry and the red of Spider-man’s suit are all vibrant and well-matched. Looking to the clouds or the dark hull of the ferry, and it’s not too crude with HDR and contrast either.
Measurements
Despite being a mid-range TV, Hisense promises best-in-class overall video and audio from the U7HQ. This model supports all HDR formats and boasts a wide colour range. There’s also a game mode for PC and console users.
