A perfume decant is a smaller sized vial of fragrance that is perfect for trying out a fragrance before committing to a full bottle. It's so funny but it reminds me of being at the beach, in North Carolina, as a kid -- the smell of the boards they used to use to make the little mini-boardwalks onto the beach -- plus a sweet fruitiness that must be the kumquat (I've never eaten a kumquat! I get no fruits or any of the other notes all I smell is powdery violets then it dries down to violet with creamy woods. Pretty perfume in a pretty bottle--not as inexpensive as many Middle Eastern perfumes, but worth much more than it costs. I'm not sure if I received a bad batch but this perfume smelt like cheap shampoo, I waited a bit for the scent to settle but nothing came of that.
