I THOUGHT RJ'S character was unique and different from most male MCs in romance books. I would describe him as introverted but not shy or awkward, just prefers the company of computers to people sometimes šŸ˜… Sure, he was a little too edgy and a little too good at everything but I didn't really care. I love the nerdy ones so this hit right for me lol After RJā€™s mom marries a rich man seemingly out of nowhere, he is forced to attend Sandover Prep School for his senior year. His plan is to keep his head down and not form any attachments. But all of that changes when he meets Sloane. Sheā€™s the headmasterā€™s daughter and also forbidden. Though, RJ is never one to follow the rulesā€¦ā€¬ he has a raging sex addiction that is never taken seriously by anyone. everyone treats it as a joke, including elle kennedy. heā€™s also addicted to drugs and has been to rehab multiple times but doesnā€™t seem to be affected by this addiction?? like he is never impacted by these addictions (other than getting a slap on the wrist from the headmaster). it seems like elle kennedy added these addictions to make him seem more edgy instead of taking such a heavy and incredibly impactful issue seriously. I think what it comes down to with MisfitĀ is that there was too much included in one book. Taking out the POVs other than RJā€™s and Sloaneā€™s might have helped. It would have given more time to develop the relationship between RJ and Sloane and moved the story along faster. Each of the other guys is getting their own book anyways. Maybe the multiple POV over the series will make more sense than just in this one book. I donā€™t know. I guess Iā€™ll find out later. RJ's flighty mother marries a rich guy and suddenly he's immersed in an entirely different world of prep school, private schools, and a new step brother. A loner by his own admission, RJ doesn't like to form ties because he knows it won't last. After all, the guy has switched schools 5 times in the last 3 years due to his mother's moving around. He's a rebel without a cause and I fell head over heels for him immediately.

Beneath Fennā€™s pretty, party-boy surface is a dangerous truth about the night Casey almost died. He thought lying to her was the right thing to do, but when the secret shakes loose, he just might lose her for good. From New York Times bestselling author Elle Kennedy comes the return to Sandover Prep, where secrets lurk in the dark and no one is safe when they come into the light. The ruling king of Sandover will stop at nothing to get rid of his competition. If RJ wants to survive prep school and win Sloane's heart, he'll need to get people on his side - and fast. Wat een bizar boek. Ik heb geen woorden voor hoe bizar. Ik heb in geen tijden zoiets problematisch gelezen. En in 2023????? Bizar, haha. Iā€™ve read a handful of her other books and theyā€™re all 4-5 star reads. This one was a 1 star until like 60% which is when stuff finally started happening. This was good! I am a fan of Elle Kennedyā€™s writing so when this book landed on my doorstep, I could not wait to read it. I liked the multiple points of view used to tell this story and I liked most of the characters but I felt like RJ, Sloane, and Fenn were the ones that shined which worked perfectly since they seemed to be at the center of the action most often. The story follows a group of boys that attend a private all-boys prep school called Sandover Prep. We also meet the headmasterā€™s daughters who are hard to resist.

Sloane did get her own POV in this book as well. There werenā€™t enough of her chapters to endear her to me, honestly. She was an ā€œice queenā€ who was all about hooking up, running, and taking care of her sister. Despite that, I did like her with RJ. Their relationship moved fast but had some sweet moments. I also liked how her ex-boyfriend Duke played into the story. There was also an interesting mystery surrounding something that happened to her sister Casey that I wouldnā€™t have minded spending more time on. RJā€˜s senior year is going to be hell. Heā€™s being sent to Sandover Prep ā€“ an ivy-covered all-boys boarding school for rich delinquents. RJ este un tip singuratic, ce nu are Ć®ncredere Ć®n cei din jurul său și consideră că informația Ć®nseamnă putere! Dar, atunci cĆ¢nd este trimis la aceeași școală cu Fenn, fratele său vitreg, situația Ć®ncepe să se schimbe.C. Him ogling his roommate- no. Creepy and gross. Your roommate should be safe in his room. If it had Although I liked all the characters and didn't find it hard to follow, I still was thrown off by the multiple POV's. You really have to pay attention to see whose part of the story you're on. The ending was a bit jaw dropping and I wouldn't call it a huge cliffhanger, but it leaves you wanting so much more! A. While 18 and technically a legal adult, he is A CHILD and he for sure emotionally is one. His entire plot of sleeping with not one but 2 teachers (a married couple) should NEVER have been written. This isnā€™t a plot point, IT IS CRIMINAL ACTIVITY!! Him being too rich to be expelled in no way makes him be the powerful one in that dynamic because HE IS A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT IN THE CARE OF THOSE TEACHERS. WTAF. That is not sexy smut- that is child abuse. Misfit by Elle Kennedy is the first book in the new adult Prep series. It is mainly set in New Hampshire at the elite prep school Sandover, and features a group of seniors. Remington John (RJ) Shaw has just found out that his mom is marrying a wealthy man he has never met and RJ is being sent to Sandover Prep, a boarding school for rich male delinquents for his senior year along with his new stepbrother, Fennelly (Fenn) Bishop. RJ is a loner and doesnā€™t see the point of trying to get along with anyone. That changes when he somehow starts making friends. Then he meets Sloane Trescott, the headmasterā€™s daughter who is off-limits to the students. However, RJ doesnā€™t believe in rules and decides to win her. Sloane is determined not to get involved after breaking up with ex-boyfriend. C. Him ogling his roommate- no. Creepy and gross. Your roommate should be safe in his room. If it had been a girl, would this have been written in his POV? (Well, given the other mess in this book, probably. And itā€™d have been equally disturbing.)

she was ranked 1st place in the Golden Rose short contemporary category for her amazing work in the book: ā€œAngel of Seductionā€The fight club. Thatā€™s what we need -boys fighting to be ā€œKingā€. Literally perpetuating the patriarchy. Condoning violence. I cannot. While it sounds cliche, outcast loner meets the headmaster's daughter, forbidden romance thing. This book was anything but. RJ and Sloane were such charismatic personalities that I couldn't get enough. I love reading about females in NA romance that own who they are and they're also not shy virgins. I seriously loved how confident Sloane is with her sexuality and appeal to men. She knows she's attractive and she makes RJ work for it. And god did I love how he chased her. The author brilliantly portrayed the attitudes and changes that occurred. The story is well-plotted with a few unpredictable moments at the end of the book. There are plenty of secrets, unlawful activities, bullying, and more woven into the story focused around the romance of RJ and Sloane. There is also a mystery concerning Sloaneā€™s sister Caseyā€™s accident that occurred the prior year. Hopefully, book two in the series will fully resolve this mystery.
