About this deal

This size of unit is especially useful in smaller homes and flats because of its size and Quiet Mark award-winning operation. Wherever you use it, you’ll find it won’t disturb work, play or sleep. Or, more realistically, you'll never really notice all the good it's going - which is far preferable to finding damp or excess condensation damaging the walls and becoming a playground for potentially harmful mould growth. That kind of peace of mind makes it worth every penny. The MeacoDry ABC Range dehumidifier is another excellent model from Meaco. It’s one of the quietest dehumidifiers we’ve reviewed– even on high fan mode – and is great at extracting water at room temperature. If you need a quiet dehumidifier for a small home or flat, it’s an excellent choice. A complaint we have is the water tank isn’t as convenient to empty as other models. On the plus side, the water tank has a plastic cover to prevent spillages. Portability degrees Celsius– 10.21 litres per day at 80% relative humidity, 6.42 litres per day at 60% relative humidity

degrees Celsius– 8.04 litres per day at 80% relative humidity, 4.98 litres per day at 60% relative humidity Yes – it’s an excellent dehumidifier, especially for larger spaces. I don’t have the MeacoDry ABC or Inventor EVA II Pro 20L to hand to make direct comparisons but the Arete One is right up there with them in terms of performance and is either competitive or slightly better on noise and power consumption. We now have three quality 12L dehumidifiers in our range which is causing a bit of confusion for some customers and we get asked on a regular basis what the differences are between the three models. They will all deal with your damp problems and help with condensation in a flat, apartment or a smaller house up to three bedrooms in size. But which one is best for you? The new MeacoDry 'ABC' range offers the multi-award winning Meaco brand of dehumidifiers at an unbeatable entry level price. Featuring the latest low-noise and energy saving technology the 12 litre MeacoDry 'ABC' is the quietest compressor dehumidifiers from Meaco, making it the most effective and practical dehumidifying solution for the home. This particular MeacoDry is the 12L model which, as its name suggests, can extract up to 12 litres of liquid a day (in 80 per cent relative humidity) - it's got nothing to do with the condensing tank's capacity. The 10L (yep, that's 10 litres a day in 80rh) offers slightly less extraction, the 20L (20l/80rh) offers greater extraction.

Because we understand that you don’t want a huge, complicated and inflexible dehumidifier in your home, we’ve designed the MeacoDry ‘ABC’ range to fit right in with your lifestyle. The unit is easy to use, and you can set your target humidity in steps of 5%, giving you complete control. What’s more, we’ve added these great features:• Laundry mode – when you’re drying laundry indoors, your relative humidity will rise. On this setting, your dehumidifier will run at full speed for 6 hours to help dry your clothes and then automatically switch off to save energy. The Arete One is also unusual for a compressor-based dehumidifier (one that uses refrigeration to cool and condense water in the air), in that it will work at temperatures of below 10°C. In fact, it’s designed to work at any temperature between 5°C and 25°C. What’s more, the new model comes in a 25L variant for larger households, which isn’t an option with the ABC range. This makes it the most powerful unit in Meaco’s current range and significantly quieter than the outgoing Meaco 25L model, which could dish out up to 50dB(A). There are six indicator lights. These are for laundry mode, fan speed, timer function, power and emptying indication. The five buttons below the lights allow you to cycle through the various settings. This cycling through settings might seem outdated, but it’s a functional system and a more complex control panel wouldn’t add much to the machine (other than price). If noise is something you’re worried about when buying a dehumidifier, the ABC is an excellent option. The Meaco MeacoDry ABC Range dehumidifier does an excellent job at extracting water at room temperature. You’re unlikely to ever achieve the 12L maximum extraction, as this requires a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and 80% relative humidity, but the machine is brilliant in the typical UK home environment. Energy Efficient costs just 2.7p/hour based on the UK average tariff of 15p/kWhEliminates Moisture – Ideal for damp and condensation

How does the ABC compare to other models in this price range though? And is it really that quiet? Keep reading our MeacoDry ABC review to find out. That's not all the MeacoDry ABC 12L Dehumidifier can do though: it's got a Laundry mode which, when pressed, ups the extraction rate ante, in turn significantly helping to remove moisture from drying clothes. No, you won't get that fresh and soft outdoorsy feel from such a drying technique - but when it's raining outside and you've got sheets to dry it's an absolute life-saver, and less expensive than hammering out a heat-based dryer too. With its sleek grill and white exterior, we think the MeacoDry is one of the most attractive dehumidifiers on the market. It’s certainly more modern than the Low Energy range, which is starting to show its age, and won’t look out of place in a contemporary home. It’s great that dehumidifier designs are finally moving into the 21st century! Buy It Direct Ltd is a limited company registered in England. Registered number 04171412. Registered office: Unit A Trident Business Park, Leeds Road, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD2 1UA. It has a similar RRP to the Meaco 12L Low Energy, so the right option depends on which you prefer. If you’re looking for a quiet machine or a more attractive design, the ABC is the better option. It’s also slightly faster at extracting water than the 12L Low Energy.Automatic turn off – this setting prevents spillage when the water tank is full, protecting your home and property. It’s not perfect though. Like all refrigerant models, it struggles at low temperatures (look at desiccant dehumidifiers instead). The rear-facing water tank can also be inconvenient to remove. It’s certainly an effective dehumidifier. In a small bedroom with damp and mould issues, I saw the humidity fall from 67% to 52% within a couple of hours, and I had to force the target down to 45% to keep the purifier busy.

We know of customers who have tried all sorts of solutions to remove humidity in their property before finding the solution with the MeacoDry ‘ABC’ range. Giving you great value for money, it combines excellent performance with low energy costs and super-quiet operation, giving you the best of all worlds. There is nothing worse than your dehumidifier breaking down just after the Manufacturer's warranty has expired. Here at Buy It Direct Ltd we want you to get the most out of your dehumidifier, which is why we offer a3 Year Warranty plan. The downside of the Arete One’s hassle-free approach is that you don’t have as much direct control over fan speeds, timers or noise levels that you get with some other dehumidifiers. As far as I’m concerned this isn’t really a problem, as the Smart controls work so well, but if you’d like to tweak things up and down yourself, then you might consider something else. MeacoDry Arete One review: Should I buy it? If you press the Smart Humidity mode button repeatedly, you can cycle between the available humidity targets, ranging from 40% to 70%rh, with a continuous option if you just want to keep dehumidifying, no matter what.I have to agree. Dehumidifiers are usually ugly things that you want to have out of sight. The Arete is the first (and only) dehumidifier I have seen that looks like a stylish tech gadget that you’d actually want to have on display in a main room, with a tinge of futuristic minimalism to it as well.
