About this deal

So once a programme overruns its scheduled end time, if a tuner is needed for another programme that is starting at its scheduled start time, or later, then the T3-R will stop the recording. Got it really to be able to record and pause whilst making tea or a cuppa and to fast forward all those pesky adverts as already have a smart tv with all the other programs but now everything is all in one small box. I've looked into the HDMI1 input settings on my Bravia where its input is half expecting a video setting that would sort this but there is nothing.

However, a better way is to enable CEC in the T3-R so that when it's powered-up the TV will switch to the correct HDMI port. Sadly, they're mostly negative, which is not helped by how Manhattam as a company completely ignored my feedback and seem unwilling to make improvements to their software. The obvious stand out difference would be that the Manhattan only records 2 programmes at once but apart from that i'm not sure what other differences there are?Scroll Back Plan your viewing up to seven days in advance and even skip back in time to watch on demand programmes from the past seven days. Exclusive: The popular Manhattan T3-R Freeview recording box is being discontinued, with a new, advanced model – the T4-R – coming later this year. Audio visual quality is top-notch, having the ability to stream in 4K from YouTube is welcome, and the Freeview Play interface is on the right side of leading-edge.

We suspect this is due to a change we made to HDD initialisation as part of a number of changes to resolve the T3-R sometimes failing to wake from standby. Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. So if you have bad reception, or if someone accidentally moved the indoor aerial, you might find out later that you have a garbled recording. The Manhattan fulfills all these functions and more, series link recording is a bonus, picture quality better than Samsung (Me Neither!

Also considering the Humax and also smart tv's with USB recording, if anyone can generalise if these are now common features. What I liked was that Humax had taken the technical decision to use Android (now Google) TV as the base OS platform which has a long support life and makes application development and releases very flexible. If you're an Easyjet passenger who was issued a voucher during the Covid-19 pandemic, you've less than one week left to use it before it expires on 31 January 2024.

Sometimes I leave my PVR on the channel of something I plan to watch, so if I get distracted I don't miss the start (or for Ad-skipping), then something else comes up and I'd like to record it, but currently can't as quick-record only starts at the current time, despite it having all the data in the buffer (this is from a channel without a catch-up service)? In 2010, two years after the birth of Freesat, Manhattan launched its first Freesat box, the Manhattan DS-100, followed by several other Freesat boxes (they still sell the popular Manhattan SX Freesat receiver).Note, however, that once you switch to a different channel, that two hour ‘buffer’ is deleted and recording starts again – for the new channel you’re on). Two other minor gripes: I had no trouble getting the remote of my T3 to control my TV but can't repeat the trick with this, and have yet to find a way of making the T3-R 'wake up' the TV when I switch in on.

I have changed a sound setting so now at least have audio but is there something I should be doing to get better sound?Must say the setting up and operation with my Harmony remote was quick and easy and works flawlesly. On reflection I think the 4000T/5000T hardware platform unfortunately left the developers nowhere to go as it simply lacked the horsepower required for a more modern and extensive user experience. Just reporting in, no issues so far, it's so much faster than my old Panasonic, and the novelty of being able to set up recordings, delete old ones, etc while there's a recording already going on is still enjoyable. The DD+ audio is only available on HD channels, and is pretty limited to films, recent dramas, that sort of thing. The quad-core processor ensures lightning-fast responses, Ultra HD HDR delivers stunning pictures and 802.
