Star Wars: Outer Rim - Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars: Outer Rim - Fantasy Flight Games

An example of an ambition sheet. If the player completes all four objectives on this sheet, they win the game! Star Wars Outer Rim: Unfinished Business was designed by Tony Fanchi and Corey Konieczka and published by Fantasy Flight Games, with graphic design by Michael Silsby. Star Wars Outer Rim: Unfinished Business Components Star Wars: Outer Rim was already a phenomenal board game that provided hours upon hours of exciting adventures for players around the world. Now, with Unfinished Business adding more content and expanding upon what made the base game so great, it seems that the legend of this game will only continue to grow. You can look forward to once again flying through the Outer Rim when Unfinished Business lands in stores this summer! Encounter Step – If you don’t encounter anyone willingly, such as trying to secure a bounty, or you haven’t run into an organization along the space road that would fight your ship, then you must do another encounter via a Navpoints card. This card proposes a situation, and you must conquer said situation or pay the price. You will never end this three-step process without an encounter, so don’t try to weasel your way out. This, of course, just scratches the surface of the new content and new means of player interaction added to Star Wars: Outer Rim with this expansion. You can look forward to new ships, new jobs, new market cards, new encounters, and an expanded single-player mode as well! New Ways to Play

Watch Your Back

Can you believe it’s already been five years since Arkham Horror: The Card Game first launched? This game has been going strong all this time and it’s not slowing down anytime soon. We had two big announcements for Arkham LCG in the In-Flight Report, with the first being Machinations Through Time. If I had to complain about something, it would be the amount of table space this game requires. I have a long IKEA table and it took a good chunk of space on it. My recommendation is to play this on a round table. It will work far better. This is my only complaint and honestly, it’s probably my fault for not having a variety of tables for the house. Traveling across the Core can save you a lot of time, but it also comes with some risk. The Core Worlds are under the control of the Empire, and if you have negative reputation with the Imperials, then you can expect some difficulty when flying across the Core. Familiar Faces Even with everything we’ve shown so far, we’ve only scratched the surface of everything that can be found in Unfinished Business. What will you do to become a living legend? Find out when Unfinished Business arrives in stores this summer! Finally, there are the favor tokens. These were fine, but we didn’t use them that much. They do encourage a little bit more player interaction, but they are really only useful in a 3-4 player game. If you are playing with two players, I can’t fathom why I’d ever help out my only opponent. But since they are modular, you can take them or leave them as you see fit. Final Thoughts:

Outer Rim – Unfinished Business Expansion Review Star Wars: Outer Rim – Unfinished Business Expansion Review

The original bounty tokens in the main game were green and yellow and only accessible when you land on planets. Now, Unfinished Business puts the third token in play with an orange token that is only accessible when you land on a planet because it lies on a planet. The original two tokens laid beside the planet, but this one guarantees an encounter of some sort when you land on a planet. It still hides the tokens, in case you’re hunting a bounty, but it makes the token discovery experience far less empty. I only say empty because I didn’t know how good it was until it was included. The more bounties and potential crew, the better. Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Unfinished Business, the long-awaited expansion for Star Wars™: Outer Rim! Encounter Step – The active player resolves a single encounter, usually by drawing an encounter card corresponding to their space. While Star Wars™: Outer Rim can see you battling up to three of your friends for fame and infamy, it can also be played in solo mode, letting you experience the wonders of the galaxy as you take on an opponent controlled by AI cards and goals. Can you overcome all obstacles and claim superiority at the edge of the galaxy? The first step in the game is choosing your character. Each player in the game gets to choose which character they want to play, which consists of some familiar faces, such as Han Solo, and can get down and dirty with bounty hunters and lesser-known smugglers. Whoever you choose to play as comes with a set of attributes, goals they must accomplish, and proficiencies, as well as a starting salary. Starting with the former, each character can have proficiencies such as stealth, tech, pilot, influence, strengths, and tactics. These can be doubled up when you add more characters to your player’s crew. If I added Boba Fett to my crew with Han as a leader, they both might have to pilot a ship as a proficiency, which means I have a strong proficiency in piloting. That will come into play when I play the game. You want to pay attention to these proficiencies, as they will be vital for success in the galaxy. They’re a wonderful addition to strategy in this game and directly related to rolling dice during combat.

Unfinished Business is a wonderful addition to the original Star Wars: Outer Rim set. It brings more variety, more characters, and a new layer of intrigue and action to the overall experience. We also plan to rerelease some (but not all) of the game’s cycles in the same fashion as we are for Arkham Horror LCG, with all player cards in a Player Expansion and all other cards in a Campaign Expansion. This is all to help new players get into this fantastic game as easily as possible. Look forward to more information on this initiative in the coming months! If all the new things to see and goods to grab aren’t enough for you, then you’ll be happy to know that Unfinished Business also gives you lots of new things to do. For starters, a pile of new interactive jobs, such as Honest Robbery Sail Barge Sabotage Rebel Traitor Because bigger is better, there's now a bigger table (if you like it, give some love to the mod there)

players will be taking on the role of one of the more roguish characters from the Star Wars universe and then you clamber up into a bit of a rubbish ship and set out to make a name for yourself. You can go about delivering goods, smuggling cargo, doing a spot of bounty hunting all while buying new bits for your ship and hiring new crew. It’s a great little sandbox to play around in. Almost everything you want to do could be a path to victory and the huge number of cards in the box gives you an almost endless amount of variety and replayability. So, what could expansion possibly add to all that to make it worth your time. Well, I’ll tell you! Star Wars: Outer Rim – Unfinished Business is the expansion for the main game. This expands the original game with new characters to choose from, adding previously mentioned monikers and goals to shoot for, and provides an easy getaway from organization starships that you might run into along the space path. This also provides more detailed missions, more bounties, more ships, and more goodies in the market. It’s a great expansion and stays true to enhancing the experience and making it more than just another Star Wars game. That said, let’s break it down a bit. We shined a spotlight on some of these characters during our two livestreams for Unfinished Business. In the gameplay livestream, we showed off what Dengar Hera Syndulla Hondo Ohnaka Chewbacca Even after you have taken your last action, you are far from safe.
