However, it's probably important to note that the film lightly implies that the Maximals are time-travellers from the future, which would mean that the Unicron who appears in this film is also from the future. Thus it could be argued that his appearance here doesn't technically contradict The Last Knight—but of course, that would mean he was trying to eat his own past self.
