As Bruce's condition became worse, the Devil Hulk enacts a plan to manifest in the real world by trapping Bruce's consciousness in an illusionary utopia. The three core Hulk personalities manage to break through the fantasy and Bruce leaves it, rejecting the Devil Hulk's offer to repair it and allow Bruce to live peacefully within it in exchange for control of Bruce's physical body. [3] [4] In reality, I read these issues as the first 3 collections of the comic, but as I read them all together I want to keep them together in 1 entry. Collects Hulk (2008) #1-12, King-Size Hulk #1, Incredible Hulk (1968) #600 and material from Wolverine (2003) #50. Each issue has a full story, which makes it a simple and very rewarding thing to read issue after issue. Each issue is also prologued with a brief quote from some literary source, and while I had no experience with reading those sources, they provided adequate ominous feeling. For now, the missing issues in this collection are only available in the Incredible Hulk by Peter David omnibus vol. 4.

Collects The Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #328, 331–368, Web of Spider-Man #44, Fantastic Four #320, material from Marvel Comics Presents #26, 45If you like the Hulk, this is a must-read. I remember reading this series issue by issue as it was coming out, and how exciting and groundbreaking it was. There’s a reason it was critically acclaimed. Simply put, Immortal Hulk is Al Ewing’s best work so far. I was already a fan of Ewing’s storytelling, specifically his Ultimates run, but this blows all of that out of the water. I didn't read Western comics as a child and I don't like superhero movies now. In that regard I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed these comics -- that is, at all. The art is quite good, especially the saturated color and storyboard-style panel framing. The frequent off-modeling is excusable as it's a body horror story.
