About this deal

So when I heard about the Onyx Boox Tab Ultra, the company's latest e-ink tablet that featured a portable digital scanner, I immediately jumped at the chance to take it with me on the go. The Note Air 2 doesn't have wireless charging. Almost all metal chassis devices do not implement wireless charging because metal can interfere with wireless frequencies. While Qualcomm has a patent on wireless charging through a metal chassis, it doesn't appear to have been implemented in a consumer product yet. Q: How does the Note Air 2 compare to the Note Air 1? When it comes to specs, you'd do well to curb your expectations of any E Ink device, whether it's a ReMarkable 2 or an Onyx Boox slate. And with a modest Qualcomm Snapdragon662 inside, processing clout is not the name of the game here. Add a variety of shapes and line styles, including solid lines, dashed lines, dotted lines, and wavy lines; On the plus, with its low refresh rate E Ink screen and a focus on eye comfort, the Note Air 2 Plus really doesn't need any more power than it has. At no point when using it did it stutter or crash, which is impressive given how heavily skinned the Android operating system it runs is.

Add Horizontal Display. The orientation of the Notes app follows the rotation direction of the system) The same Onyx account, the same book in the same folder, and synchronization enabled are required for book annotation syncing across different BOOX devices. Add an option of the System Bar can only be expanded by pulling down. The option is enabled by default and prevents accidental expansion of the System Bar when apps are in full screen.

An excellent digital note-taker

The last device I reviewed that was similar was the Huawei MatePad Paper, and I’m pleased to report that the Note Air 2 Plus manages its execution better, with fewer latency issues and improved performance overall.

Onyx gives you various refresh rate settings that either keep text sharp or make the screen fluid enough for YouTube videos at the cost of ghosting. I've even played games on these tablets, despite some weirdness. Performance isn't the sprightliest; the Note Air 2 doesn't feel as fast as an iPad, but performs acceptably. Onyx is the only brand that goes beyond the simple refresh system and has one that is super advanced. This is tremendously useful if you want to watch YouTube videos, play games or not have to worry about animations in many of the leading ebook reading software, such as Moon+, Comixology, Aldiko or Play Books. There are no LEDs here, but you can alter screen brightness from the pull-down menu, choosing between yellow or blue light and dimming options, which I found worked great in most environments. Personally, my preference is for a yellow-toned display, but the colder tones proved handy for reading outdoors, or in other brightly lit areas. Overall, though, I was always able to view the content displayed on the screen.

Support

The Onyx Boox Note Air 2 Plus is a tablet and e-reader in one, arriving with a Boox Pine Green stylus with which you can doodle and take notes as you read. If you want a reading tool, though, and aren't a fan of your Kindle's small screen and its limited app support, this is a perfect step up for anyone who can justify the cost. Running Readly – the magazine and newspaper app– beautifully, and showing off comics well with apps like Marvel Unlimited and DC Infinite, its large 10.3-inch eye-friendly screen does a brilliant job. There are a few dictionaries that are preloaded on the device, but you can sideload in your own. Onyx default e-reading software is OK, nothing to write home about. I would certainly recommend installing whatever app you have done business with in the past, such as Kindle, Kobo, Nook or any of the European ones such as Storytel. Libby, Overdrive, Cloud Library, and all of the library apps also work really well. All of the different refresh settings really make the Note 2 extremely viable to be a dedicated e-reader. The front-lit display and color temperature system is really great for reading in the dark.

The Note Air 2 has a new film over the screen that gives it a more paper-like feel than the original model. This makes an appreciable difference, and the pen grips nicely on the screen. It feels more textured, less slippery, and more tactile than the Apple Pencil on an iPad screen or an S Pen on a Galaxy S21 screen. That said, the Kobo Elipsa and Remarkable 2 offer a similar experience. Onyx Boox Nova Pro dal vivo. Foto e video live - Notebook Italia". notebookitalia.it (in Italian) . Retrieved 2018-02-02. The problem with them is they sell Russian versions of Onyx’s ereaders. Their devices have different names and often different software that never gets updated like regular Onyx ereaders.
