I would have loved to have seen more of the renovation process in the book to go on Thea’s journey from start to end but that is just me being greedy and wanting to live a little of my dream through her! But their idyllic winter excursion is thrown into turmoil when the canal freezes over and an unexpected visitor appears on the scene. We do also get to meet some characters which we have met in previous books, and that was a lovely addition.She was stubborn and wasn’t going to admit to Esme that she would rather curl up with a book for the day. As their perfect mini-breaks around the globe take on a life of their own, Hester wonders if her world of make-believe is all starting to feel just a little too real . It's a perfect summer read, and I read the last half of it in one sitting in a few hours in my garden on a nice early evening, and it calmed me down from being furious about stuff earlier in the day.
