KB EAR's Stellar is well built, has a nice cable, offers a quality tune with decent technical ability, and costs next to nothing. Fans of a barren unboxing experience will be satisfied. Those hunting for a bargain will be satisfied. Someone looking for a cheap daily driver that sounds good and they don't have to worry about will be satisfied. The Stellar is everything good about portable audio, just like the VE Monk before it, and everyone should have one. Listening to Earth Wind Fire's "September" on these is fun; the bass really shines through in this song and sounds particularly groovy due to that fast bass and forward bass presence. Every note from the bass guitar is clear and fast which adds to the groove. Customs tried will be specified as “custom”. A “Third party custom” is someone else’s customs that I forcefit into my ears. Any other use of the term “unit” will be universal. Between the narrow sound stage, the extreme V-signature, and the muddy tonality, the KS2 feels like six earphones in one, and for some, that’s going to be quite an interesting combination. COMFORTABLE & EXCELLENT SOUND】 The mid-low frequency has rich infectant power and relaxed and natural characteristics. The mid-high frequency has nice resolution, transient and ductility. KBEAR KS2 is equipped with a combination of BA DD through electronic frequency division processing, so that each unit can give full play to its performance and achieve accurate and delicate performance. Reproduce the sound effects loyal to the original sound, bring charm and dynamic.
I had the Red Vido ( had because I damaged the drivers while recabling) and hated them mainly because I bought the Nameless at the same time, which was better in every way for 0.30 USD more. It sounded too congested, vocals were much more recessed and I didn’t like the bass one bit (exaggerated; drowning). Maybe I just got a bad unit. Never went into buying another pair. The bass is prominent on this IEM as it sound more punchy, precise and definitely has an ample slam, to think that sub-bass is more prominent on the bass region. Overall the bass here is rich in quantity and yet has mastered the quality too with nice control and separation. Midrange: Harmanesque rise with a 4-6kHz dip. Clean but recessed. Allows higher volumes to accentuate the bass. 5/10
The KBEAR Stellar is a cheap and good budget earbud, sporting a warm U shaped tuning that is non fatiguing and smooth. Technicalities (other than soundstage) are quite well done, though this is a not a set for trebleheads in view of the rolled off treble. Once again, I would like to thank Wendy Li for providing this review unit, I truly appreciate on her generosity towards me and other reviewers.
Coming to the Amping side if the story – you can literally taste or rather hear the difference between them be clear, as sour is from sweet!! Female vocals sound pretty great per se , they are well balanced. Not a hint of sibliance at all. They are well extended with air in their voice which comes through pretty nicely!! The IEMs are ranked purely by sonic performance.* Fit, isolation, durability, build quality etc. are ignored unless they interfere with the sound itself. Mids: are slightly recessed in the lower Mids but forward a little in the upper midrange and lower treble IMO, vocals are warm and have some emotion to them. Now an ultra affordable newcomer appear from no where, and no, it isn’t a follow up of the acclaimed ”house sound” incarnate by Diamond and KB04 crisp tonality. It’s call KS2 and score a 10mm ”biological” dynamic driver plus a ”custom” balanced armature.The overall sound output is slightly U shaped with excellent bass extension and smooth yet detailed treble. The mids are placed forward with nice engaging vocals. They are quite energetic in sound output. There is a slight hint of sibilance which is like genre specific especially female vocals but not troublesome or fatiguing. In fact this is one of the best non fatiguing earphones I have tested.
Mids: The mids of the KS2 definitely fall behind the bass but i think its still decent and is not bad. There is not much to say but it can definitely be improved. MEDIUM FREQ: Definitely the best part of this headset. Although set to a V EQ, the mids feel good, have excellent control and bring out the voices so much to let the best songs of Lana del Rey sneak deep in your chest. Excellent response to the equalizer in the mids which can also be raised to distortion level. Vocals and mids are probably my favourite part about this earbud. Female vocals are more forward than male ones, without being overly harsh. By and large it is very smooth and non fatiguing for me at moderate volumes. Details in the mids are actually quite good when amped, was surprised in this aspect. Vocals are decent but sometimes sound a little far away. Overall, the mids are maybe a little recessed and give way to boosted bass and trouble. For most of the music I listen to (pop, hip hop, rap), this was fine, but some listeners may not like this.There's a slight lower treble boost, but this set is not sibilant and harsh in the upper treble. In fact it doesn't have that great treble extension and isn't an airy set. Trebleheads will probably not like this set. And to be honest, It will be a hard to sell that I will recommend this one to a more experience audio enthusiast who were more attuned to neutral and less coloured sound signature, But for a starters and beginners who want a better sounding and decent technicalities set than their previous more casual “consumer-friendly” tuning earphones then KB Ear Lark is a better option. The pair itself is made of plastic resin with a metal faceplate I can say that it's well built, in terms of the connector type, the pair is very sturdy and tight. in my ears, it's very comfortable and it goes deep giving me a better seal and fit with maximize sound isolation. The design reminds me of the guilty crown because it resembles the scene where the main character uses his power to unleash weapons.
One of the most generous audio companies on putting up a substantial amount of included accessories. The entry level CVJ is not a bad product in itself, either. Providing a “more energetic” sound akin to ChiFi of old, the top end does get tiresome at higher volume to me, but there is a certain good quality about the mids and vocals, which can keep you engaged. For me though, that mellow full, warmer tonality of the KS2 wins out. That flavor is more in my taste anyway. There are only seven 3-star (★★★) IEMs (with the inclusion of the Aria and the Timeless, up from 5 from the previous update), making it the most prestigious award where only 0.71% have it.Soundstage – Average. Not it’s best feature. It reproduces a 3D-like stage, not that wide nor tall nor extended but enough so that it doesn’t sound congested. Considering it’s an earbud, it is better than my budget IEMs/TWS, but is beaten by the MS16 (though an unfair comparison, IMO). It has a rounder bass tuning than I am used to, but I really love that on sub bass hits! It will serve me well for electronic music. At this price, it's great! Knowlege Zenith, for example, shows with the ZSN Pro that you can get better haptic and aesthetic (I know this is a matter of taste) at this price. King- Lauren aquila & Hello – Adele & Sway – Diana Krall – lovely ladies and lovely songs – Female Vocals mostly – wew, these ladies have already taken my heart, what more do they want !! The bass is strongly boosted, which can be further increased with foamtips. Although it has the highest output in the signature, it does not completely overshadow the signature. It has quite good stability and is simply fun. The sub-bass has real fire and the mid-bass a dynamic punch. It extends a bit further when it wants to slam and is therefore not the fastest, but quite organic. I would like the upper bass to drop faster to provide more clarity in the midrange, but you can't have everything. In the long run it's too much for me, but for in between it's a great fun.
