W]hile you can't see the effects of ageing on your inner organs, you can most definitely see the byproducts of time on your largest and only external organ: your skin." (p. 74) Pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo about “spiritual healing” and “natural remedies” and “ancient secrets” peddled by scammy TV doctors abounds on the shelves of bookstores the world-over.

A positive attitude in general increased your life expectancy, especially if you're positive about the ageing process. Have a topical focus on actionable anti-aging therapies or interventions that have been supported by peer-reviewed studies, not just “aging gracefully” Adult stem cells live in the tissues of our organs which, dormant, can be activated to heal and repair your body. I selected the below best-selling anti-aging books, which are especially relevant for readers in 2021, by the following criteria:

This book is like a textbook and I'm a student in Mrs. Diaz's class haha This past chapter was all on menopause. 99% of the chapter on menopause I had no idea about so that was really interesting. Attia reinforces this point by noting that once we account for people who were spared from death by infectious disease, life expectancy has only changed marginally since 1900. From here, Attia introduces the basic concepts of what he terms Medicine 3.0: prevention, personalization, and intelligent risk assessment. Now Cameron continues the journey she began, opening a conversation with her peers on an essential topic that that for too long has been taboo in our society: the aging female body. In The Longevity Book, she shares the latest scientific research on how and why we age, synthesizing insights from top medical experts and with her own thoughts, opinions, and experiences. For example his view of autism and ADHD as diseases that should can can be cured is incorrect and offensive. Ultimately if you eat balanced nutritious meals, exercise, don't smoke, get restful sleep, don't stress too much, and are socially connected on a daily basis you'll live a healthy long life :) If you have a nice genome too :P

In Young Forever , Dr. Mark Hyman challenges us to reimagine our biology, health, and the process of aging. To uncover the secrets to longevity, he explores the biological hallmarks of aging, their causes, and their consequences—then shows us how to overcome them with simple dietary, lifestyle, and emerging longevity strategies. You’ll learn: She discusses the social and psychological impact of growing older as well as biological statistics and biological scientific facts and explanations on why and how we age and what can go wrong and what to watch out for. She gives great tips all along the way to stay healthy. The genotype is the set of genes in our DNA which is responsible for a particular trait. The phenotype is the physical expression, or characteristics, of that trait. It was the beginning of simplifying my relationship with my own health, and of focusing on a few things that matter. It was also the beginning of my personal friendship with Howard, which is one of the recent delights of my life. G]enes that have become altered as a result of your lifestyle can actually be passed down to the next generation. That means that the DNA each one of us receives from our parents is influenced not only by the lifestyle of our parents but also our grandparents and our great-grandparents and our great-great-grandparents" (p. 65) This is not a diet book. It's not for those who look at commitment with disdain. No, it is about drastic comprehensive lifestyle change with a primary focus on what you eat. The science proves that you become what you eat, and nothing will confirm that more than when you are in your elder years. Loved it :) Feels like you're sitting down with Cameron Diaz and she really cares about your well being and wants to help you. I imagine us sitting in her chic apartment overlooking New York with a glass of red wine in our hands and she's teaching me a million things about ageing. (Inspired vision from the movie The Other Woman haha). Many of the pharmaceutical studies we rely on do not take sex into consideration. Since hormones fluctuate over the course of a month, tests that use females can be a lot more complicated to analyze than tests that use males. Without taking hormonal shifts into account, it is impossible to determine how treatments might affect a woman over the course of a month." (pp. 55 - 56)

Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity eBook : Attia MD

The Blue Zones, Second Edition: 9 Lessons for Living Longer From the People Who’ve Lived the Longest by Dan Buettner: A sensation when the research first came out in National Geographic in 2005, and the subject of dozens of fad diets and followup research studies (including, arguably, James Clement’s Supercentenarian Research Study mentioned above), the Blue Zones hypothesis has since come under some criticism but is nonetheless interesting. One of the most compelling aspects of the book is its exploration of geroscience, the interdisciplinary field that investigates the relationship between aging and age-related diseases. Dr. Barzilai contends that targeting the biological processes of aging could prevent or delay the onset of multiple chronic diseases simultaneously, transforming the way we approach healthcare. He emphasizes the potential of geroscience to revolutionize medicine, allowing us to live not only longer lives but healthier ones as well. Conclusion The Longevity Diet: Discover the New Science Behind Stem Cell Activation and Regeneration to Slow Aging, Fight Disease, and Optimize Weight by Valter Longo: Another diet book, and recommended as well by David Sinclair, but older than Clement’s The Switch and with possibly troubling recommendations related to Longo’s non-profit fasting supplement company, ProLon. The beginning was all about really accepting your age, don't be focused on being vain and how you look because it's all about how you feel and what you radiate into the universe that others find beautiful. You can't compare the beauty of a 60 year old to a 20 year old because it's not apples to apples. Everyone is beautiful in there own way and at their own age.
