If you decide to watch The Perfect Daughter on Saturday night and find yourself wanting to dive deeper into this movie's themes, there are plenty of stories — both real and fictional — that you can turn to. However, what's at the heart of this film, a story about how life's unpredictability changes the relationship between a father and a daughter, is a little harder to find in entertainment, but it's still out there.But would one of her alters be capable? Would Eve, the most aggressive and openly hostile, have committed such an atrocious act? What alarms Grace the most is the name of the victim: Rachel Boyd, who is Penny’s birth mother. Rachel abandoned Penny at the age of four in a public park before Grace found her and eventually made her part of the family. Grace knows Penny is in big trouble, especially when she learns that Penny had been in touch with Rachel online and made threats against her. The father and daughter have a heart to heart and clear things up. Martin tells Natalie about what really happened with her mother and apologizes for lying. Sam and Natalie decide to raise the baby together. While THE PERFECT DAUGHTER isn't my favourite of Kerry's thrillers, it is still a tense read that is as enjoyable as it is disturbing. When it comes down to it, Jennifer's life hinges on two seconds. What can happen in two seconds and how much can change in two seconds. With all the red herrings peppered throughout when all is revealed, you don't see it coming.

There is too much of everyone literally feeding off one another. Even the widower's worker is his former brother-in-law, a simpleton with an eye for the ladies. Filled with more three-dimensional characters than any other book I have read recently, Palmer truly brings the reader inside the world of this story. Of course, there is a main character, but rather than everyone else simply playing the role they have in that main character’s life we get to see and know about the lives, thoughts, and feelings of those other characters as well. For instance, we don’t just see the doctor in the psychiatric hospital solely in his role as it relates to Grace’s daughter. We learn about him beyond this position and see some of what his life is like apart from who he is in Grace and her daughter’s story. It helps the reader understand the motivations of some characters, but also creates a more vivid world for the reader to drop in to. The setting is rural Deer Hills, and the time is the present. After Nat is elected school treasurer, she decides that she wants to celebrate. She makes the conscious decision to tie one on and sleep with the school president, Sam Cahill. But she hadn't counted on becoming so inebriated that she suffered alcohol poisoning, necessitating a trip to the hospital. She hadn't counted on the gossip that would ensue from her excess. And she hadn't anticipated becoming pregnant.
