Celebrated hits from Tina Turner and Blondie precede legendary Pop from Sinitta, Hazell Dean, Tight Fit and Baltimora, before Stars On 45’s salute to ABBA and bringing the disc to a close with UB40’s enduring ‘Red Red Wine’. Disc one showcases some of the bands who were at the forefront of this culture shift, including Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and Visage – all having fantastic years with their albums ‘Rio’, ‘Diamond’ and ‘The Anvil’ respectively, plus huge tracks from The Human League with ‘Mirror Man’, Japan with ‘Life In Tokyo’, Gary Numan’s ‘Music For Chameleons’ and ‘Pale Shelter’ from Tears For Fears, all in their extended and remixed versions. The best in Hi-NRG and pop-dance is celebrated on disc 3, with Boys Town Gang, Divine, Hazell Dean, Dollar and Bucks Fizz. and continuing with a run of some of most memorable hits of the decade from Kenny Loggins with ‘Footloose’, the massive number one ‘Uptown Girl’ from Billy Joel and the triumphant ‘I’m Still Standing’ from Elton John.
