About this deal

The Soto Windmaster stove features a compact design that makes it easy to carry during your outdoor activities. Its dimensions when in use are 5.9 x 5.9 x 3.2 inches (15.0 x 15.0 x 8.0 cm), and it weighs only 5.0 oz (160g). When stowed, it’s even more compact, with dimensions of 1.34 x 1.8 x 2.5 inches (3.4 x 4.62 x 6.37 cm). The 4Flex support system on the Windmaster allows you to use larger pots while cooking. Soto Windmaster and Amicus are both highly regarded stove systems used for outdoor cooking. They have both been around for a while and each has its own unique set of benefits. Comparing the two can be difficult as they both have their advantages and disadvantages. SOTO's Windmaster Stove has all the technology benefits of the Micro Regulator stove and is fitted with a unique burner head that is designed to eliminate performance problems caused by windy conditions.

Read More >> When I put it on or take it off the cannister I always get a blast of fuel leaking out. This is especially bad with a new cannister. I have been using my Jetboil for more than 10 years and even when I unscrewed the cannister slowly I never experienced a leak like this. The head on this stove is large as far as canister stoves go and and sits very, very close to the pot allowing just enough airflow to provide oxygen to the head but not so much to impact the flame. In fact the burner head is slightly recessed providing additional wind protection. Most canister stoves need a windshield to operate well in windy conditions and while this will benefit any canister stove, it is not essential in most conditions for the Windmaster. In fact we timed this stove to boil 500 ml of water and even with a light breeze it timed in at 2 minutes and 42 seconds which did work out slower than the integrated stoves but not by a great deal. If you are using this, or for that matter, any other stove during windy weather this boil time is going to be slower. In the interests of saving weight I recently semi retired my 10+ year old Jetboil for a Soto Windmaster. But after using it for a few trips I have some questions. If you’re an avid camper or hiker, you understand the importance of a good stove in the wilderness. And when it comes to choosing a stove, Soto has always been a reliable brand. In this article, we will compare two of their popular stove models – the Windmaster and the Amicus – and highlight their features, differences, and similarities. Design and PortabilityIf salty food spills onto the stove, clean off completely to avoid damaging the die-cast aluminum surface. How to clean off burned on food from the WindMaster stove burner head: The integrated pot that comes with the Primus Lite+ and Jetboil Zip have smaller volumes, which prevented us from testing them with a full liter. We tested the boiling time of the Lite+ using only 0.5 liters of water (making its time seem faster than it would have been otherwise) and the Zip with 0.75 liters. As the name confidently implies, the WindMaster is designed to offer fast yet efficient boiling no matter what the weather is doing. Boil 2 cups of water in just 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Boil 2 cups of water in under 2-1/2 minutes in strong winds and gusty weather. This well-made stove is able to stand up to harsh conditions.
