About this deal

Yields based on the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern with Epson's methodology. Actual ink yields will vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink colour. All ink colours are used for printing and printer maintenance, and all colours must be available for printing.

The ET-1810 is a printer only; no scanner or copy facility – ideally suited for sublimation use and provides the lowest possible entry point price for users who are starting out. An ideal solution for hobby and home users. Quoted yields are extrapolated based on Epson original methodology from the print simulation of Test Patterns provided in ISO/IEC 24712 or 29103. Quoted yields are NOT based on ISO/IEC 24711 or 29102. Quoted yields may vary depending on the images that you are printing, the paper type that you are using, the frequency of your prints and environmental conditions such as temperature. During the initial printer setup, a certain amount of ink is used to fill the print head’s nozzles, therefore the yield of the initial bundled set will be lower.Due to the Ecotank that is built into the printer by Epson there is no need for any retrofitting of a CISS or RIC. The main attraction of this printer is the Ecotank, and the biggest advantage of it is the fact that it will never ask for ink.

Having said that, if colour printing is high on your agenda, the six-colour tank-based Canon Pixma G650 is better for the job, and will produce richer prints. The cost of printing rises a little because of the extra colours, but photo printing is significantly improved. For the best photo quality, however, we still recommend the Canon Pixma TS8350. Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™; level of performance subject to the range of the router being used. Wi-Fi Direct may require printer software.Although specifically formulated to work with DX4 and DX5 printheads thorough testing has proved it to prove no problem in TFP heads and other Micro Piezo systems. Happily, the EcoTank system isn’t just cheaper in the long-run. It seems to be idiot-proof, with safeguards against filling the wrong tanks. It also produces less plastic waste. My only criticism is that the ET-1810 comes with just a one-year warranty. It can take a couple of years for a refillable ink tank printer to prove better value – a longer warranty would provide the reassurance that you’ll get to that point. ICC profiles are a necessity when trying to achieve accurate colours with sublimation printing, and without their use the finished result will not be as desired. Ink-tank printers don’t tend to be the fastest around and cheaper printers are generally slower than more expensive ones, so you might justifiably expect the Epson EcoTank ET-1810 to trail well behind the competition in terms of speed.
