While applying this hack works on my fx-95MS, it won't allow you to perform Matrix or Vector operations. Please be assured that any amount you feel able to donate will make an immediate and significant impact.
The fx-82l variation came fitted into a hard plastic case which completely enclosed it protecting it well.Last but not least, it comes with an emulator software which when used with a pc and a projector enables me to demonstrate an operation to the entire class at once. I figure that the actual calculator software is hardcoded on the ROM to save costs, but it would be interesting if the software was actually contained on a built in EEPROM. Even removing the battery doesn't seem to clear the memory completely, I once left the calculator without a battery for a whole day so all capacitors are drained as well, and I still got mixed results. I didn't hit any after making about 1mm of progress, but decided I didn't want to risk permanently disabling the calculator without actually learning anything useful that I could use on the fx-95MS.
Would like to share it with the reverse vat calculatorteam so they can also read it and implement something new. These young people deserve a space which is engaging and inspiring, where they can feel a sense of adventure, exploration and surprise! The total code size is given at the end of the compilation thanks to the cmake-arduino tool, and it's size is ~886bytes. These three quality features ensure that CASIO ClassWiz series calculators are educational tools that effectively support learning.Nevertheless the calculator scenario is much more complex, at least for the casio fx-82ms which isn't programable. If anyone is interested in some pictures, I could look at giving my old Nikon a bit of exercise and get some pictures of the boards.

There wasn't any problem running Matrices or vectors on the fx-82MS; when I performed the hack it would work as a full fx-570MS (albeit temporarily). After another battery reset I had mixed success with the hack, but once the 'matrix' hack is used it seems to work every time, so there might be something sticking around in memory even after the matrix hack). This is unlike before where I often had to move around explaining the steps to individual learners on their calculators. It does occur to me that since this is very clearly a mask-rom CPU that's understandably being used in several products, that almost certainly there's a pin or two that's tied high or low to configure it.
So, those modes are likely disabled at hardware level, and likely cannot be enabled with a software level hack.
The fx-82 SUPER has capacity of displaying 10+2 digits, and can calculate combinations and permutations too. Also, to check if memory is cleared I assign a value other than zero to a variable, short the cap without battery, after powering the calculator, I check if the variable I assigned to is reset to zero.
