About this deal

This is the saving grace that should ensure The C64 can still be enjoyed by modern gamers. There’s still a thriving homebrew scene for the original Commodore 64 and a lot of these games were made in recent years, meaning they were designed with modern standards in mind.

THEC64 - Retro Games

Highway Encounter • Hovver Bovver • Impossible Mission • Impossible Mission II • IO • Iridis Alpha • Jumpman • First released in 1982 – hot on the heels of its rival, Sinclair’s ZX Spectrum – the Commodore 64 became one of the most popular home computers of the 1980s. It was far from user-friendly by today’s standards – even demanding some code be entered just to load games – but it inspired a generation of future programmers and designers, many of whom went on to be influential game makers. At the peak of its popularity, factories were building 400,000 units a month to meet demand. On the right side of the machine, you'll find the C64's power button, which is the only pressable button on the console. Simply pressing the button once doesn't seem to do anything, though –you'll have to hold the button down for a second for the C64 Mini to power up.Skate Crazy • Speedball 2 • Spindizzy • Steel • Street Sports Baseball • Street Sports Basketball • Ultima VI - The False Prophet (1990)(Origin Systems)(Disk 3 of 3 Side A)(Populace B).d64|Populace B There exist multiple versions of the C64DTV. DTV1 ( NTSC television type) comes with 2 MB ROM. It first appeared in late 2004 for the American/Canadian market. DTV2 (called C64D2TV sometimes) is a revised version for the European and world markets ( PAL television type) and appeared in late 2005. The ROM has been replaced by flash memory in these devices. However, the DTV2/PAL version suffers from a manufacturing fault, which results in poor colour rendering (the resistors in the R-2R ladder DACs for both the chroma and the luma have been transposed). In the DTV3, a problem with the blitter was fixed.
