About this deal

My least favourite part of the build are these arches, which like the real Eiffel Tower, have no load bearing capabilities and are just there for decorative purposes.

While it suffers from a high price-per-part, this is a physically large set with really fun play features. To be frank, this model looks beautiful from across the room — assuming that you have a large enough room to allow you to see it from a distance! I am extremely pleased with the overall shape of the model, which captures the elegant form of the real building very well. If this were a MOC on display at a LEGO convention, it would draw large crowds due to the large size and high degree of craftsmanship. The Eiffel Tower combines different looks from different eras that amalgamate in what designer Rok Zgalin Kobe feels is the “ideal” image and vision of the Eiffel Tower. Includes collectible booklet containing information about the design, architecture and history of the building This clearly isn’t the case, and a lot of effort has been put into the building experience to make it quite intuitive, seamless and as pain-free as possible.A build like no other – Get ready to break records with this LEGO Eiffel tower model set for adults. Standing at almost 5 feet tall and with 10,001 pieces, it’s a collectible piece to cherish forever Coolness [5]– One of the world’s best known landmarks, at this scale, made out of LEGO. Doesn’t get any cooler than that NOTE: Bags 51, 54, 57, 59, 64, 67, 71-74 were found inside of the smaller white box (6418327) rather than loose inside of Box #3 (like the rest of the bags). I do not know why they did this only for just one of the three boxes. Bags 41 – 51: Frustum-shaped central module And for a better frame of reference that hopefully more people can relate with, here it is next to the LEGO 92176 NASA Apollo Saturn which is just over 100cm tall. Set the scene – Take your time crafting the Esplanade, where ground-level details include Parisian lamp posts, benches, trees and shrubs

Proving once and for all that price-per-part is a pointless metric, the World Map remains the record-holder for the most pieces in a LEGO set. Whether it is mind numbing, or relaxing is up to you. The angled supports above the curve are superficial in both the LEGO model and in the real building. To make it easy to transport (it’s not recommended to carry the entire Tower in one piece… although you can), and to clean or move around, the LEGO Eiffel Tower can split into these 3 parts, allowing you to reposition it with ease if you must.To be fair, even when some of the most talented AFOLs build MOC’s based on key landmarks, they take similar shortcuts to achieve the right ‘look’ without re-creating the structure in the same way. Overall, it is perfectly acceptable, but falls short of exceptional. Value On the sides of the Eiffel Tower, 72names of French scientists, engineers, and mathematicians are engraved in recognition of their contributions, and they’re represented here by the dark grey “gold bar element”, with 18 on each side! Of course, each section has more of these red and yellow elevators, slowly making the climb up on the inner collumn. That said, on the fist platform, you’ll notice plenty of these repetitive patterns, which aren’t necessarily fun to build, but are really aesthetically pleasing. Just like the original construction, this collectible model is assembled in 4 sections. The process closely follows the way the real tower was built, giving you a unique insight into Gustave Eiffel’s engineering brilliance. Discover true-to-life details throughout, including landscaping, 3 observation platforms, lifts and a broadcast tower, topped off with the French flag.

There are about 12 parts that come in quantities in excess of 100, including 704x of the badly damaged 1×1 clip mentioned below, and a potentially ‘evil’ 666x 1×6 plates. Naturally, almost all of these high-volume parts are 199 Dark Stone Grey Dark Bluish Gray. The exception is 1×1 Round w/ 5 petals (part 24866) which you get in large quantities in both 37 Bright Green and 28 Dark Green Green. Injection Moulding Quality IssuesReal Value [4]– It’s expensive but good value, especially if you factor in the Eiffel Apartment GWP The Eiffel tower was constructed from 1887 to 1889 as the centrepiece of the 1889 World's Fair. Despite receiving initial criticism for its design, it has since become a global, cultural icon and one of the most recognisable structures in the world. Over the next 11 bags, we build the second removeable module of our growing Eiffel Tower model. The next module has the shape of a pyramid with the top cut off, which is called an Frustum. (I’m continuing to use this article to teach the names of obscure geometric shapes — Enjoy!) Ascend the tower – Head skyward as you assemble the 4 plinths, 3 observation platforms, lifts with cabling, Gustave Eiffel’s private office at the top and broadcast tower This is a massive, expensive, and highly anticipated set which deserves serious consideration. To conclude this review, let’s consider the aesthetic aspects of the completed build, value compared to similar sets, and other considerations like learning moments and the practicality of displaying a large (and potentially fragile) set. Aesthetics

LEGO Architecture building toys are compatible with all LEGO construction sets for creative building Repetition and these intricate iron-wrought lattice that make the Eiffel Tower’s aesthetics so iconic draw the eye in, and the techniques employed to create this effect is simple, yet effective. There are 74 (!!) numbered bags in the LEGO Eiffel Tower, which is the most I’ve ever encountered in a set. The downward force is distributed evenly between all four legs (which fun fact, points to the four cardinal directions), is just so cool to behold, and a great lesson on LEGO engineering. As the most recent previous addition to what we had called the Creator Expert series, the Colosseum is a much denser model than the Eiffel Tower. It is much easier to display because it is shorter, but it does not have nearly as much presence in the room despite a similar price point. Bags 1+2: 18 minutes, Bags 3+4: 9 minutes, Bags 5+6: 12 minutes, Bags 7+8: 10 minutes, Bags 9+10: 12 minutes. Bags 11-18: Piers and Foliage
