About this deal

Steps are one of the only acts staging a major tour on an arena scale right now so it’s safe to say they had plenty of pressure on their shoulders with the ‘What The Future Holds Tour’. Fans were treated to a half-hour set from Sophie Ellis-Bextor as they arrived into the arena and found their seats, and a simple glance at the thousands of people in attendance showed that people were delighted to be back enjoying live music with the masses. Fans can expect to see and hear classics such as ‘Deeper Shade Of Blue’, ‘Tragedy’, ‘One For Sorrow’, ‘Stomp’ and ‘Last Thing On My Mind’ plus new favourites including ‘Heartbreak In This City’, ‘Something In Your Eyes’ and ‘Scared of the Dark’.

Cautiously optimistic about the state of live music, the group announced a headline tour for November 2022 and although it’s been a bit touch-and-go as to whether the tour would be allowed to happen due to the pandemic, it kicked off on 2 nd November in Sheffield.

The news comes after it was announced on Saturday that Lee Latchford-Evans had tested positive for Covid-19 and would be forced to miss the remainder of the Steps tour.

If What The Future Holds represented the future for Steps, then the current single, Something In Your Eyes, gleefully celebrates the past via a classic, ABBA-esque chorus, a joyous key change and a brilliantly unexpected staggered outro. Includes the classics Deeper Shade Of Blue, Tragedy, One For Sorrow, Stomp and Last Thing On My Mind plus new favourites including Heartbreak In This City, Something In Your Eyes and Scared of the Dark. Steps said: “We were so proud of our What The Future Holds Live tour and we’re excited for those who came to watch to be able to relive the show again.

was mashed up with ‘Groove Is In The Heart’ for a 60s twist, ‘Better The Devil You Know’ featured elements of Madonna’s ‘Vogue’ as the group paid homage to the bands and artists they rose to fame with in the 90s, and ‘Something In Your Eyes’ sounded much grander live with a harder beat and a devilishly catchy chorus.

The name of the band was visible centre stage and opened and closed to allow the group, and their troupe of dancers, to enter and exit the stage at various points. For the safety of everyone involved in the show we have decided to reschedule tonight's Cardiff show and Wednesday's Bournemouth show to summer 2022 (dates to be announced soon. It's so much fun, it’s a real nod to old Steps, but it works so well alongside What The Future Holds.
