About this deal

Whether you're hanging out with your partner or planning to meet up with friends, this sounds like a fairly welcome addition to Valentine's Day, me must say. Chatting about the launch in a release, Asda’s Product Developer, Marion Muir, said: " Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to remind loved ones just how much you care, adding special finishing touches, like a deliciously romantic gin liqueur, to your evening can make it extra special. These ice cubes are made with canned lychee nuts and maraschino cherries and will have your drinks chilled in no time. They look like eyes and taste delicious too, thanks to the sweet fruit flavors inside them. Plus, the sweet and oaky taste of the punch balances out the sourness of the eyeballs! Ingredients When ready to serve, combine the vodka, lychee liqueur, Cointreau, and ¼ cup of the lemon lychee syrup in a shaker filled with ice. The range includes a fabulously fruity range of spirits, including Apricot & Lychee gin liqueur in a new showstopping bubble bottle

What I am a massive fan of is films like The Philadelphia Story, His Girl Friday, The Apartment… all of them romantic comedies with brains, heart and dialogue that you want to quote forever. And all of them made at least 50 years ago… I guess they don’t make them like the used to – to use a cliché that happens to be absolutely true. Sure, please use any juice that you would enjoy, such as lemon, lime, orange or grapefruit juice. What kind of gin did you use? Drain the lychees. Place the lychees in a bowl and pour the maraschino cherry syrup over them. Let sit for about 10 minutes or until the lychees look “bloodshot.” Fancy yourself a dose of horror movies? Then you’ll be delighted to hear that there are creepy eyeball ice cubes for you!Non-alcoholic gin of your choice (you can use a different kind of non-alcoholic spirit that you prefer as well). Remove from the syrup and blot dry with paper towels. Insert a whole maraschino into the hole of the lychees.

This gorgeous take on a classic gin gimlet is super yummy and refreshing! It’s made with gin, sweet lychee juice, tangy, fresh-squeezed lime juice, and a splash of simple syrup. I’ve garnished mine with some fresh edible flowers and lychee fruit.

Lychee (litchi chinensis) is a tropical fruit that is native to China from the soapberry family. It grows in warm, sub-tropical climates like China, Hawaii, and Florida. Lychee fruit is round, has red bumpy skin, and a brown seed in the middle. The white flesh inside has a similar texture to a grape without the skin. Lychees are sweet, with a slight floral element. Place on a plate or sheet pan to dry. Put in the freezer for at least an hour or until firm and cold. However, I prefer to make my own homemade lychee syrup! This homemade version is so easy to make, because you only need 2 ingredients, canned lychee and sugar. While you can use either gin or vodka to make a classic martini, you’ll definitely want to opt for vodka in this recipe. With its fairly neutral aroma and flavor, vodka allows the lychee to shine as the star of this drink. How to Make a Lychee Martini I am not a big fan of romantic films – at least not the of the paint-by-numbers ones designed specifically to tug at the heartstrings – girl meets boy, they fall in love and ride off into the sunset, after overcoming the usual obstacles of course.

Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Cook for a minute or so or until the sugar is dissolved.KNOW YOUR LIMITS The UK Chief Medical Officers recommend adults do not regularly drink more than 14 units a week. I used Empress 1908 Gin for this recipe but please use any gin that you enjoy. Other recipes you may like! I actually love using the juice instead canned lychees. I find it to have a wonderful sweet flavor and you can also use the lychees as a garnish for the drink. Can I substitute with another type of juice? This drink can be stored without the garnishes in an airtight jar for up to 4 days in the fridge. FAQ What kind of lychee juice did you use? A much-loved nostalgic flavour transported into a bottle; this cake inspired boozy treat is a perfect picnic staple.

Strain the contents of the shaker into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with the remaining lychee and enjoy! HOW TO MAKE SIMPLE SYRUP?: You can easily make it by adding equal parts sugar and water to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. You don’t want to cook it. Just stir until the sugar is melted. Then let cool to room temperature before using. You can store extra syrup in a sterile, airtight container for up to a month in the refrigerator. Another much anticipated return, this vodka boasts smooth, delicate vanilla notes for a light yet satisfying taste. A punchy tropical flavour to perfectly compliment a warm day, this tasty tipple offers notes of zesty pineapple and smooth coconut for the ultimate taste of the tropics.
