About this deal

One of the main reasons the red coolant is for older cars is that older Toyotas typically have radiators not made of aluminum. This coolant contains a triazole and a molybdate to protect the metals like copper in older radiator models. The pink coolant does not have these ingredients. 4. The Service Life of One Is Shorter than the Other

Shorter service intervals: Compared to SLLC, LLC requires more frequent changes. Toyota recommends changing LLC every 30,000 miles or every 24 months, whichever comes first. In this section, we will discuss the two main types of coolant that Toyota recommends for your Camry: Toyota Super Long Life Coolant and Toyota Long Life Coolant. Both coolants are ready-made and in concentrated form. But you should dilute the Long Life coolant with water before using it. The exact proportions of dilution depending on the climate where the anti-freeze is being used and the lowest temperature of the place. I did the coolant flush about 3 years ago and didn't really understand coolants, so I used the green coolant. I would not do that again, knowing what I know today.

Toyota claims that it is possible to mix the pink and the red coolants. But some experts advise against it. They say they would always exercise caution regarding mixing the two. If you consider changing one with the other, they recommend flushing the system first before replacing the old with a new coolant. Toyota Long Life Coolant and Super Life Long Coolant – Where to Buy? No, Toyota Pink Coolant is not just premixed Red. The pink coolant is an OAT (organic acid technology) that typically has a longer service life. The red coolant on the other hand is an IAT (inorganic acid technology) that is considered to be more “conventional” but still longer lasting than some other coolants on the market. What Are the Ingredients of Each Coolant? Nulon Red Premium Long Life Coolant Premix (RLLTU) is a pre-diluted, read- to-use 50/50 mix of Nulon Red Concentrated Long Life Coolant (RLL) and demineralised water. RLLTU is formulated to be used in either of two ways: You should use distilled water to dilute the concentrated coolant. But in its absence, you can use tap water. Also, you should not use tap water in the dilution of the concentrate. 3. Both Tested at Toyota’s Laboratories

Red color: Toyota Long Life Coolant has a distinctive red color, making it easy to differentiate from SLLC.It will prevent cavitation and corrosion of engine mechanisms. This coolant will not oxidize and will not foam. It will maintain the optimal operating temperature inside the engine and extend its service life. While most Toyota cars are now using the Super Long Life coolant, the Long Life coolant should never be discounted. This first coolant version is still widely distributed and sold in many Toyota stores and dealers across the country. 2. Ready-made and in Concentrated Form The Toyota Long Life Coolant is based on propylene glycol with added corrosion inhibitors and additives. Its color is clean red. The Toyota Super Long Life Coolant is a new generation, ready-made, and concentrated coolant also based on propylene glycol using carboxylate technology. Modern corrosion inhibitors are also added to it. Its color is pink. R40 should be added to the old coolant. With the heater on, run the engine, or drive for 20 minutes minimum or 1 hour maximum. Slowly pour a 50/50 mixture of coolant and distilled water into the radiator. Be mindful of the coolant’s maximum fill line.

Wait for a few minutes, then turn off the engine and let it cool down completely. You may need to add more coolant to reach the proper level after the cooling process. So, it is time to change the coolant in your Toyota, but you are wondering what is better, Toyota Red Long Life Coolant or Toyota Pink Super Long Life Coolant. These are two main coolants available from Toyota and while they look similar, there are some differences. Is Toyota Pink Coolant Just Premixed Red? Toyota* warrants that it will either provide a replacement part or repair any Toyota part or accessory that is defective in material or workmanship. This warranty applies to new or remanufactured parts which are Toyota Genuine Parts. Toyota Genuine Parts are defined as all Toyota parts and accessories that are either manufactured or specifically approved by Toyota Motor Corporation and sold by TMS or its authorized Private Distributors to authorized Dealers. The heat exchanger is used on later model Prius Hybrids to heat the engine up faster for reduced emissions and improved heater operation after a cold start. The following excerpt from the ‘New Car Features’ of Toyota’s Technical Information System (TIS) explains the purpose and components of the exhaust heat recirculation system. This pink color is the result of using the OAT tech, which stands for organic acid technology. It enables this pink coolant to have a longer service life. The red coolant uses a different technology, IAT or inorganic acid technology. This is a more conventional tech but still imparts a long-lasting service life, longer than what the other coolant brands can offer. 2. Both Are Pre-Mixed, but One Needs to Be Diluted with Water

Again, it really doesn't matter. Keep using Supertech by all means, it's really not worse or better in real wolrd. We are talking such a small margin realistically. Maybe if someone was to run both in lab conditions you'd find a real world difference after many many many hours of use. This is similar to how people debate if Intel or AMD is better for gaming when in reality we are talking such a minor difference it really doesn't matter. The end user will literally never notice a difference. To reiterate, the Long Life and Super Long Life coolants of Toyota have the following general characteristics: If your car is modern with an aluminum radiator, Super Long Life Coolant is definitely what you want. Any implied warranties, including those of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the applicable duration of this written warranty. You CAN, however, use Toyota Red on a newer Toyota. It'd be silly to do that, though, since the Pink supposedly lasts longer. I suppose this would apply for someone who had leftover Red sitting in their garage and bought a new car.
